1 General information Breast augmentation / Breast lift First consultation During your first consultation with one of our consultants * we discuss all options and we provide you with advice. During this meeting you have the opportunity to use different prothesis fit sizes and ask all your questions. We inform you about the further course of events and all preparatory steps for your operation. If desired, you will be referred to one of our doctors. *Attention: a consultant is not a doctor! Second consultation We always plan the second consultation with the doctor who will carry out the possible treatment. Together you discuss the options previously mentioned by the consultant. The doctor will also give his own advice at this time. We therefore always advise you to respect the doctor's expertise and to follow his or her advice. Reflection period We like to follow the rules. Between your consultation with the doctor and your operation we always plan the legal reflection period of 7 days. You cannot be operated until a week after this conversation. We make no exceptions for this. All our doctors are BIG registered. After your consultation you will receive a confirmation from us stating this BIG number of the doctor recommended by us. The clinics in which we operate are all affiliated to the ZKN.We ourselves are ISO certified under NEN-number 'EN 15334', requirements based on EN-ISO After your consultation with the consultant and the doctor, your medical questionnaire will be assessed by one of our anesthesiologists. Your medical history and current health situation is assessed. Only when the doctor and the anesthesiologist find it safe to operate you, the surgery can take place. Mentor prothesis At Praktijk Gabriels we work exclusively with the prostheses of Mentor. The prostheses have a solid (cohesive) filling that feels natural. The prostheses do not leak. The envelope is made of raw material which reduces the chance of capsular formation up to 3%, in contrast to the smooth variants where you have a 33% chance of capsular contracture. Immediately after the operation you will receive a guarantee card with stickers on which the serial numbers of the placed prostheses are listed. You get 20 years warranty on the leakage and excessive capsular formation of the prostheses. Forming of the prothesis A Mentor prosthesis with cohesive gel is not completely filled but 85 percent to contribute to a natural result and a smooth breast. When this prosthesis is inserted, it can occur that a fold or wrinkle feels and / or is visible. Patients with thin skin or low fat percentage are more likely to develop this. This also increases the likelihood when choosing a relatively large prosthesis. If the surgeon believes in advance that there is a big chance that this will occur to you, you may be advised to opt for a prosthesis with a higher density. For more information see 'cohesive gel'. No guarantee is given for the formation of wrinkles and / or wrinkles. We therefore advise you to make an informed choice in consultation with the surgeon when choosing the prosthesis type and size.

2 Cohesive gel Sometimes the doctor advises you to choose Mentor prostheses filled with cohesive II instead of as a patient cohesive I. If this applies in your case, we will discuss this during the consultation. There is no quality difference between them, the only difference is the firmness of the gel. Prothesis size You will receive advice from the consultants and the attending physician regarding the prosthesis size. They always take into account the wishes of the customer, but especially your posture, the breast fold, nipple (stand) position, symmetry between both breasts and the skin structure. The advice you receive is always accurate but not binding. The choice is yours. We ask you to make an informed decision with regard to the size of the choice as the responsibility for this lies with you. (Ex-) bariatric patients If you have been operated in the past with a weight-reducing procedure such as a gastric bypass or gastric sleeve, keep in mind that the loss of body weight may have worsened the condition of your skin so much that a plastic surgical correction does not always give the desired result. You should assume that it often happens that multiple operations in the same area are necessary. In addition, the chance of complications is greatly increased. Several operations are often required for this as well. Because of the complexity, these are not covered by our warranty conditions. Indication 2 During the consultation with the plastic surgeon, the situation of your breasts will be carefully examined, as they are now. Based on the surgeon's findings, an advice is given. Depending on various factors such as the condition of the skin, the position of the nipples and the amount of breast tissue, a breast augmentation or breast lift (possibly with prostheses) is recommended. It regularly occurs that the condition of the skin has deteriorated due to fluctuations in weight, pregnancy, smoking and hereditary influences or a combination of these factors. It can therefore prevent a breast lift being required within a short period after the breast augmentation. When this indication is given during a consultation, this procedure is carried out under 'indication 2'. This means that there is an increased chance that an elevator will still be needed after the operation. In this situation you must take into account that a second operation becomes necessary and that this causes extra scarring and additional costs. When this situation arises we offer as a service that you only pay the difference between the price of the breast augmentation and the breast lift. 3 Sign in time A few days before your operation you will receive an from us stating the time at which you are expected. You have the option to indicate your preference for a specific time during the first consultation. If you arrive to late If you arrive more than 15 minutes late on the day of your operation, we charge an additional fee of 500 euros. Sober If you are not sober at the time of signing in on the day of your operation, the procedure can not be continued. We then charge an additional fee of 800 euros. In preparation for your operation Purchase a post-operative bra (see bra for more info). Make sure you have 1000mg paracetamol suppositories in your home. If you have received a prescription for thromboprophylaxis, make shore you have it at home a day before the operation. However, experience has shown us that this can contribute to possible inflammation and slowing wound healing, because the wound remains week through the fluid. In combination with the different layers of clothing and therefore no air supply, the wound can start to scald. Chest strap/band It is possible that the doctor advises the patient to wear a chest strap. You will hear this or just after the procedure or during your first check after two weeks. The recommended duration of wearing a chest strap can vary from a week to two months. During this period you will have regular contact with the practice to discuss the progress. ** Drs. Hupkens and Drs. Waes almost always recommend (except for the left) a chest strap. Therefore bring 25 euro in cash on the day of your operation. You can purchase the transmitter if necessary in the clinic. Smoking Smoking has an adverse effect on the result of your intervention. You have a significantly higher chance of capsular contracture, inflammation and other complications if you smoke. We therefore advise you not to smoke or smoke less. Also passive smoking can have an adverse effect on your healing process and the end result. We therefore advise you not to come into contact with cigarettes at least 4 weeks before and 2 weeks after the operation. You may take 1 person with you to accompany you the day of your operation. 4 The day of the operation You have to stay sober. You are not allowed to eat or drink anything from hours on the day of your operation. Take this advice seriously, you cannot be operated when you have had something to eat or drink. Bring your post-operative bra to the clinic. Keep your skin free of body lotion, oil or the like. You may use deodorant. Two hours before the start of your operation you take 1000mg paracetamol by means of a suppository, in pill form is not acceptable, because you are not allowed to drink water. We advise you to leave valuable items at home. Wear comfortable clothing and bring warm, clean socks. Remove artificial nails and / or nail polish. Remove any piercing (s). The first two weeks Keep your wound dry (see bra). After a breast augmentation a term of 2 weeks applies, after a breast lift 4 weeks. Do not lift heavier than the weight of a pack of milk. The second check takes place 6 weeks after the procedure. Of course you are welcome to come earlier in the meantime or contact us for any questions. The first check is scheduled 7 days after the operation. The second check takes place after two weeks. During this check, the patches are removed and the wound healing is checked. Generally speaking, the buttons of the stitches are removed at the third check, after three weeks. It can occur Costs aftercare Depending on the type of treatment, you will be asked to come to check with the consultant, nurse and / or the attending physician several times. No costs are charged for this. You do not have to pay anything for this even if you come on your own initiative and once or more often. When a complication occurs, which results in an average of 5% of our patents, such as a wound infection or a bleeding, (acute) aftercare is provided free of charge. In one case, the wound infection is so severe that, on average, 0.5% of our patients develop that it needs to be removed. This treatment is carried out free of charge. If you decide to have a prosthesis replaced after having been cured, this treatment will be carried out non-profit. You pay the OK costs and the cost price of the prosthesis.

5 HUIT - Scare crème Huit is a scar cream based on Lanonine, vitamin E, which provides skin renewal and vitamin A, which stimulates the production of collagen and prevents skin discoloration. This cream treats the damaged skin and reduces the risk of hypertrophic and keloid scars after skin damage. Huit may be used as soon as the skin is closed and the sutures are removed. The product is highly moisturizing which inhibits the production of scar tissue, which ensures comfort and improves the cosmetic result.
