HUNGARY 1-Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, because it gives you energy to start a new day. 2-I usually have a cup of cereal with milk and drink some kind of tea or juice. 3-I eat out once or twice a week.
5 4-I really like Italian food and Chinese food. 5-Yes, The Hungarian government has also recently taken steps to change poor eating habits and obesity in children by focusing on food available in schools. Effective from September 2005, the Hungarian government addresses the type of food offered in school buffets and vending machines by making healthier ingredients mandatory. According to current legislation on competition, it is not in the government s power to prohibit the offering of certain food products. However, it can forbid the use of certain ingredients in the food products offered. Several on-going national or regional programs support quality catering and nutritious food for school children. The Start with Breakfast Program promotes healthy breakfast in schools for every day. Through the programme school children have been receiving nutritious breakfast for free, in addition they have received awareness raising training, which promote healthy nutrition and lifestyle as well as the importance of sports and exercise. In the framework of the School Milk Program the Hungarian Government gives price subsidy to schools and nursery schools which provide milk, cocoa or lactose-free milk to the children. The School Fruit Scheme is part of the EU programme which is funding children s provision with fruits and vegetables. The Catering Model Scheme focuses on healthy catering for those groups which are facing greater health risks such as children and elderly people. All these programs privilege locally produced food; some introduce organic products as well. A growing number of schools in Hungary are joining the Nutrition Friendly School Initiative (NFSI) initiated by the World Health Organisation (WHO), which aims to build a network among schools to share best practices and stimulate further development in this field. 6-Every lunch includes some kind of soup. I think there is much meat and vegetable sauce. You are rarely given any cakes. 7-Fast food
