Saverio (Sam) Rosati Nearly a century ago these were the simple words Sam Rosati lived by; little did he know this humble philosophy helped shape the foundation on which Rosati s Pizza was built. Sam s father began the family s rich tradition of serving delicious Italian food to customers in his New York restaurant back in the late 1890 s. After the turn of the century, the family moved to Chicago and opened yet another fine Italian restaurant featuring Italian Style Pizza, a tasty appetizer consisting of homemade tomato sauce served on a crispy piece of bread. In 1927, following in his father s footsteps, Sam opened his own Italian restaurant in downtown Chicago. When Sam retired, his sons were ready to continue the family tradition. The year was 1964 and pizza in America had evolved and was starting to take off. The first Rosati s Pizza opened its doors in a suburb of Chicago. Other locations soon followed and Rosati s Pizza was on the map.

Convenience, Variety, Quality And Profitability The retail pizza market has grown to an incredible 40 billion dollar industry accounting for nearly 10% of the total foodservice sales in America today. Surveys indicate 90% of the American Population enjoys pizza. Why? Because pizza is fresh, convenient, reasonably priced, and simply put, it tastes good. Statistics also tell us that consumers want fresh toppings, flavorful cheese, rich wholesome sauce, and a crust with great taste and texture. 4 Ingredients for Good Business. Market Analysis and Site Approval Drawing on our fifty years of experience, we will assist you in evaluating your market. Your location will be reviewed and approved based on favorable trade area demographics, target population density, household income levels and competitive factors. Our stores are typically located in strip shopping centers that provide visibility, curb appeal and accessibility. Construction We will be available to consult with your regarding lease agreements, permits, building codes and other related matters, you will be supplied with our Franchise Design Specification Manual. The Manual provides a specific interior design package, the required kitchen layout and design specifications as well as instructions for the purchasing and installation of equipment. Training A successful operation depends on hiring, training and retaining quality employees and management personnel. As part of the Rosati s Pizza Franchise Program we have designed a comprehensive training system for franchise owners and operators based on proven standards and guidelines developed over the years by Rosati s. Prior to the opening of your store, initial training will take place in one of our locations in addition to classroom training in our corporate office. With the exception of personal costs, transportation and lodging, your training expenses are included in the Franchise fee.
5 Pizza consumers also rate fresh toppings and rich homemade sauce as extremely important to a good tasting pizza. Opening Assistance Our company representatives will be on hand to assist you with employee training and all aspects of your initial store opening. We will also provide all necessary training materials, operating manuals and guidelines and assist you in the implementation of all procedures. Additional on-site training is always available. Ongoing Support Our franchise consultants, working under the Directors of Operations, maintain constant communication with all franchisees. You will receive operating and marketing information as well as new ideas to assist in the growth of your business. Also provided is an in-depth consultation report, which provides an analysis of your operation and a jointly prepared action plan to optimize store performance.
6 Our menu variety fills the consumer s needs for the gourmet and specialty items. Purchasing We have established quality standards in all our operations and we will provide you with a list of products that meet those quality standards. As part of the Rosati family of franchisees you will participate in our purchasing program and volume buying power. This helps keep costs down and ensures product quality and consistency that is vital to a strong franchise system. Marketing Rosati s marketing strategy targets the geographic area of each restaurant through the extensive use of distinctive print material. A local marketing manual also provides an outline to focus efforts on a variety of communityoriented activities. The use of a sophisticated computerized point of sale system provides detailed customer information enabling us to execute the marketing strategy in a cost effective manner. 7 Rosati s Franchise Program GETTING STARTED 1. RETURN COMPLETED PERSONAL AND FINANCIAL APPLICATION Your information will be held strictly confidential and will be used only to determine preliminary qualifications to purchase a franchise. Your application is non-binding and does not obligate you or Rosati s Franchise and Development, LLC. Preferred geographic areas listed on your application will be evaluated at this time. 2. TAKE A CLOSER LOOK You will be invited to visit us at our office for a Discovery Day. You will meet with various staff members and will be given our Uniform Franchise Offering Circular {U.F.O.C.}. A tour of one of our stores will be arranged and there will be ample time for you to observe, ask questions, participate in the operation and get the general feeling of a Rosati s Pizza Franchise. This visit is designed for you to learn more about our company, observe our operation, and decide if this opportunity is right for you. 3. EVALUATION It is important for you to know that a Rosati s Pizza Franchise is not granted solely on financial qualifications. The decision to award a franchise is based on numerous factors conducive to a mutually beneficial business endeavor. If you qualify as a good candidate and you agree to pursue this opportunity, a franchise will then be granted to you. 4. SIGN THE CONTRACT AND SCHEDULE TRAINING The initial franchise fee of $25,000 is due at the time the contract is signed. Your training will be scheduled and you will receive your operations Manual and all other pertinent materials. 5.
