2 Georgia 4-H offers programming in Healthy Living across our delivery system: Health Rocks 18,000 reached with 10 hours of instruction/80 youth trained as action leaders (18 month grant cycle January 2013 to August 2014) Health Rocks Less Stress on the Test -10,000 youth reached annually Friends Publication- Eat Healthy, Georgia-40,000 youth reached annually 4-H HOP (Health is our Pledge) class at Summer Camp-5,000 per summer Partnerships for Obesity Research at 4-H Summer Camp with UGA s Grady, Veterinary Medicine and Engineering- three year collaboration

5 Georgia 4-H: Health is our Pledge Summer Camp Class Impact Of the sample set, participants correctly identified best practices for developing a healthy lifestyle 83% of the time. 75% of students indicated that they plan to drink less soft drinks and more water or milk in the future. 80% of the students indicated that they have gotten more exercise at 4-H camp than they normally do.

7 Georgia 4-H Eat Healthy, Georgia in partnership with UGA Extension Family and Consumer Sciences Impact from CHOP Grant using Eat Healthy Curriculum 31% reported that they decreased the amount of sweet tea and soda they consumed. 29% gained knowledge on the nutrient density of foods. 46% increased the amount of fruits and fruit juice consumed daily. 29% increased the amount of vegetables consumed daily. 27% increased their exercise and physical activity. 31% gained knowledge on how to read food labels to compare fat and calories in food. 32% improved their food safety habits. 44% gained knowledge about serving sizes of foods according to MyPyramid. 38% will try to eat foods from all groups of MyPyramid each day
8 Georgia 4-H s newest partnership Georgia Food Bank Association & Children s Healthcare of Atlanta We began a pilot program in Rockdale and DeKalb counties to train 4-H Ambassadors to reach their communities with the message of healthy living and combatting hunger.
