Manager of Development Kim Mitchell, Chief Development Officer I. Call to Order / Roll Call The Research Promotion Committee meeting was called to order at 7:30 am. A. Review Roster Information All committee members verified that their contact information as listed on the roster was correct. B. Introduction of Visitors 1

2 Rieke introduced all Visitors. He asked Staff, RP ExCom, and RP Staff to introduce themselves. C. Funding of Top Dog Award Rieke passed an envelope around for all Committee members to contribute to the Top Dog monetary award. Incoming RVCs were told they were excused from participation. II. Review of the Agenda The location and date on the Agenda was changed. III. Approval of Minutes Alexander moved and Farrish seconded that 1) The minutes from the Winter Meeting in Chicago be approved. Vote 16:0:0 CNV MOTION PASSED IV. Representative Remarks Mescher briefly congratulated the Committee on all their hard work and encouraged them to finish the Campaign strong. Mitchell welcomed all the RVCs. V. Review Action Items Rieke reviewed Action Items. Adelmann confirmed all items were complete. The biggest change was that the Regional Treasurer and YEA Chair were added to the Regional Full Circle requirements. She also announced David Underwood approved the PAOE for

3 VI. Ongoing Business A. Council Actions/Motions/Ad Hocs MacGillivray reported on the CT CRC Ad Hoc actions thus far. B MBO Results Rieke reviewed his MBO and stressed how critical it is to have RP Chairs attend Centralized Training in the Fall. VII. ExCom Report A. Highlights & Committee Actions Rogers clarified chapters using new money versus treasury money to set up Chapter Scholarships. It was discussed as to how best to support the Chapters scholarship activities and, at the same time, support the RP Campaign s ongoing goal of annual fundraising at a grassroots level. Rogers explained that ExCom s proposal is for the RP Committee/Campaign to only accept Chapter Scholarship funds if the funds are raised on an annual basis and through the ongoing efforts of the Chapter RP Chair, BOG, and donors. Single donations that are the result of simple funds transfers from the Chapters scholarship account to the Foundation scholarship account will no longer be counted in the RP Campaign. This item will be presented to the Development Committee for their information. B. Manager s Report Adelmann reminded all the RVCs, especially outgoing RVCs, to fill out the form for Collins Award by July 15 th. Adelmann took an Action Item to send out the form for Collins and samples of good and bad write-ups. AI(1) She also reminded all the RVCs with early CRCs to send us any display and promotional material requests as soon as possible. 3

Regional Business A Estimates and Highlights Region I - $225,000 Region VIII - $385,000 Region II - $172,000 Region IX - $251,000 Region III - $208,000 Region X - $180,000 Region IV - $176,000 Region XI - $175,000 Region V - $120,000 Region XII - $145,000 Region VI - $160,000 Region XIII - $45,000 Region VII - $130,000 Region-at-Large - $33,000 B. MOP & ROB update Rieke announced the ROB and MOP had been reviewed and edited. He mentioned that many of the changes were very minor. C. Development Committee Update D. Less than Minimum Endowments Hezlep reported on Endowments sitting at less than $2,500 that need to be brought up to minimum. An Action Item was taken to compile a list of these smaller Endowments, report on total dollars in each fund, and report back on in Orlando. AI(2) E Goals Region I - $182,000 Region VIII - $360,000 Region II - $161,000 Region IX - $225,000 Region III - $185,000 Region X - $190,000 Region IV - $175,000 Region XI - $169,000 Region V - $120,000 Region XII - $141,000 Region VI - $170,000 Region XIII - $41,500 Region VII - $125,000 Region-at-Large - $33,000 F MBO Rogers reported on his changes and additions to his MBO. 4

5 G Centralized Training Adelmann announced the below Training dates: Centralized Training #1 on August 27-28, Regions VI, VII, VIII, XI Centralized Training #2 on September 11-12, Regions III, IV, IX, XII Centralized Training #3 on September 18-19, Regions I, II, V, X IX. Other Business A. Recognition of Top Dog Winner Region XI RVC, Ryan MacGillivray, was announced as the Top Dog winner. B. Recognition of Retiring Committee Members Rieke, Phelan, Abbott-Adkins, Crowe, Alexander, Martin, and MacGillivray were presented with plaques and thanked for their service and commitment to the RP Committee. C. Chair s Final Comments Rieke thanked the Committee for all of their support during his time on the Committee. He wished them all well in upcoming campaigns and said he will visit often because once RP, always RP! D.
