A colourful bazaar of goods that staff, students and locals can purchase will be on display. There will be decoration - colours, scents, music - to make it a multicultural and diverse event. There will be stands providing advice (including entrepreneurial) and highlighting issues relating to women and their roles and films linked to midwifery and mental health. We are taking over LRC1 (Main Lecture Theatre, Sighthill Campus ) and turning it over to traders of all nationalities. This will include problem-solving, raising awareness of the complexity of FGM, celebrating positive action taken by Scotland-based organisations to eradicate and prevent FGM and honour based crimes, as well as highlighting individual stories of FGM survivors. (Two days of workshops, talks and panel discussions.) Series of talks, film screenings and Changing Perceptions workshop 4 x 2 hour blocks of the basics of self-defence, running 2-4pm on the two weekends, Sat and Sunday over the 16 days; The activity plan is to cover basic releases from an assailant grabbing at the wrist, grabbing at the hair, strangles, pushed against a wall, and (if deemed appropriate) a couple of defences from an assailant holding against the ground. We will go around the city and hand out helium-filled balloons. The balloons will have a card tied to them that will contain messages which celebrate women and their accomplishments, as well as messages that challenge Gender-based crime; honour based violence; gender justice; gender biases ; mental health awareness; gender based violence; domestic abuse Physical peace; compassion; advocating activism

Art exhibition followed by a panel discussion themed on the contribution made by young BME women in the field of cultural education and combating gender stereotypes A storytelling session through mixed media, talks, picture journals and workshops Two talks Heren: a history of sexual violence against young girls in Scotland, Palmer: personal story of his mother, a Jamaican woman and sufferer of GBV.
