22 FENWAY: SUMMARY of MAJOR FINDINGS POSITIVE Adolescent Births - In 2005, there were less than 5 births to Fenway adolescents ages Infant Mortality - During , 2005, less than 5 Fenway infants died. ED Intentional Injury Visits In 2005, Fenway youth (ages 0-17) 0 and young adults (ages 18-24) made less than 5 visits each to hospital EDs for intentional injuries due to guns or sharp objects like knives. In addition, Fenway youth made less than 5 visits to hospital EDs for intentional injuries due to unarmed fights and self-inflicted injuries. CHALLENGES ED intentional Injury Visits for Self-Inflicted Injuries In 2005, 43% of visits made by Fenway young adults, ages 18-24, to hospital EDs for intentional injuries were for self-inflicted injuries which may include suicide attempts. Asthma Hospitalization Rate Although the Fenway asthma hospitalization rate for children under age 5 (8 hospitalizations per 1,000 pop.) during was the same as for Boston children, that rate is still higher than the Healthy People 2010 target of no more than 2.5 hospitalizations per 1,000 pop. Furthermore, the rate for Fenway children ages was one-third higher than the Boston rate.
