2 Protein Purification In order to characterize the structure, function and interaction of proteins with their environment it is essential to isolate the proteins of interest. Protein Purification is a process that involves steps associated with dissolution and isolation of proteins. For safe extraction of proteins, we carry products that form essential components of protein purification kits or used independently in research endeavors. Our protease inhibitor cocktails are a unique series of enzyme inhibitors that knock out specific proteases to avoid peptide bond hydrolysis and prevent protein destruction. Remove unwanted phosphatases by adding our phosphatase inhibitors which are also available in cocktail forms that selectively target particular contaminants. A complete package! Along with Protease and Phosphatase inhibitors we also specialize in buffers and detergents without which protein purification process is incomplete. 5 Biological Detergents Biological detergents are critical tools for the study of membrane proteins. They are vital for the isolation and purification of the proteins and are used in the primary solubilization step of reconstitution. Biological detergent solutions are also used in a variety of bioprocessing methods including electrophoresis, immunostaining, DNA extraction, and drug manufacture A high-quality biological detergent with the right properties can increase your yield and lower your costs. For your protein solubilization and protein purification needs, AG Scientific carries the highest quality zwitterionic CHAPS, Octyl-β-D-Glucopyranoside (OG), Non-Ionic DDM, Synthetic Zwitterionic Sulfobetaines, Protein Solubilizers, Triton X-100, Tween 80 and dust-free SDS to name a few. Ionic Biological Detergents Ionic Biological detergents have a hydrophilic head group that is charged either negatively (anionic) or positively (cationic). Ionic detergents are used for the denaturation of proteins and complete disruption of cellular structure. It is sensitively affected by ph, ionic strength, and the nature of the counter ion, and can interfere with downstream charge-based analytical methods. S-2066 Dust Free-SDS, Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate S-2428 SDS Solution (10% in H₂O) S-2451 Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS), powder form Non-Ionic Biological Detergents Non-ionic Biological detergents have a hydrophilic head group that is uncharged. They break protein-lipid, lipidlipid associations but not protein-protein interactions, and most of them do not denature proteins. That s why non-ionic biological detergents are considered as mild surfactants comparing to harsh surfactant, ionic detergents, to denature protein structure. By not separating protein-protein bonds, non-ionic detergents allow the protein to retain its native and active form. D-1304 n-dodecyl-beta-d-maltopyranoside (DDM) P-1504 Protein Solubilizer 35, Brij-35 N-2366 NP-40 (10% in H2O) P-1505 Protein Solubilizer 40, NP-40 N-2410 NP-40 Lysis High Salt Buffer Solution O-1036 n-octyl-β-d-glucopyranoside (OG) P-1508 Protein Solubilizer Set 1, Sterile 10% (Tween 20, Tween 80, Triton 80, Triton X-100, NP-40, & BR) P-1496 Protein Solubilizer X-114, Triton X-114 P-2387 PBS-Tween Tablets P-1498 Protein Solubilizer 80, Tween 80 T-2407 TBS/ Tween20 10X Solution P-1500 Protein Solubilizer X-100, Triton X-100 T-1056 Triton X Non-Ionic Detergent EIA P-1502 Protein Solubilizer 20, Tween 20 T-2779 Tween 20, 10% Solution AG Scientific Inc. 4 agscientific.com
6 Zwitterionic Biological detergents Zwitterionic Biological detergents have characteristics of both ionic and non-ionic detergent types. Its headgroups are hydrophilic and contain both positive and negative charges in equal numbers, resulting in zero net charge. Zwitterionic detergents are cause less denaturation of proteins than ionic detergents by protecting the native charge of protein molecules similar to non-ionic biological detergents but are more harsh surfactants. They are more efficient than non-ionic biological detergents at disrupting protein-protein bonds and reducing aggregation. These properties have been used for chromatography, mass spectrometry, and electrophoresis methods, and solubilization of integral membrane proteins. A-2187 ASB-14 C-1019 CHAPS, High Purity C-1461 CHAPSO S-1018 Sulfobetaine-8 S-1020 Sulfobetaine-10 S-1022 Sulfobetaine-12 S-1024 Sulfobetaine-14 S-1026 SulfoBetaine-16 Non-Detergent Sulfobetaines (NDSB) Non-detergent sulfobetaines (NDSB) consists sulfobetaine hydrophilic groups like those of zwitterionic detergents and short hydrophobic chains that cannot aggregate to form micelles. Therefore, NDSB s are not considered as detergent. They have been reported to improve the extraction yield of membrane, nuclear and cyto-skeletal associated proteins. NDSB s are used for protein folding, renaturation, and crystallization processes D-1089 NDSB-195 D-1119 NDSB-201 D-1091 NDSB-211 D-1121 NDSB-256 Corporate Promise AG Scientific, Inc. is an ISO 9001: 2008 certified facility since 2005; we will handle your projects with integrity and privacy.
