5 Pharmacy Inventory Allowance Provinces and territories establish price points for the most commonly prescribed generic drugs through the pan-canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance. Effective April 1, 2018, the prices of these generic drugs were set at 10% or 18% of the brand name drug price, as communicated in the February 28, 2018 bulletin. Related to these price changes, a one-time Inventory Allowance Payment will be paid to participating provider pharmacies in New Brunswick. The payment will be calculated by analyzing all claims submitted by pharmacies to the government-sponsored drug plans ( NB Drug Plans ) between April 1 and April 21, 2018 for the 68 impacted generic drug categories. The total payment will be calculated based on the difference between the Maximum Allowable Prices () as of March 31, 2018 and the effective April 1, A cheque for the payment will be sent to each pharmacy in May.
