2 SECTION 3 HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION Potential Health Effects: a. Relevant routes of exposure: Skin, lungs, eyes, mouth b. Sensitisation reactions are not expected. The target organs for cyprodinil were the liver, kidneys and thyroid. Target organs for the other ingredients were the eyes, skin and respiratory tract. vi)medical conditions known to be aggravated: None known SECTION 4 FIRST AID MEASURES If POISONING IS SUSPECTED, immediately contact the poison information centre, doctor or nearest hospital. Tell the person contacted the complete product name, and the type and amount of exposure. Describe any symptoms and follow the advice given. Call the Syngenta Emergency Line [ (1-800-FASTMED)], for further information. EYES: SKIN: INHALATION: INGESTION: Immediately flush eyes with large amounts of water. Hold eyelids apart to rinse the entire surface of eyes and lids. Obtain medical attention. Remove contaminated clothing, and wash skin well with soap and water. Obtain medical attention if irritation persists. Move person to fresh air. Give artificial respiration if necessary. Give water to drink. Do not induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Call a physician or contact poison information centre. NOTE TO PHYSICIAN: No specific antidote is known. Treat symptoms. If a large amount has been ingested and emesis is inadequate, lavage stomach. SECTION 5 FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES 1. Flash point and method: Not applicable. 2. Sensitivity to explosion by static discharge: No SECTION 6 ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES a. Procedures for dealing with release or spill: Wear personal protective equipment as described in Section 8. Keeping dust to a minimum, sweep up and place in a suitable chemical container. Wash the spill area with a small amount of water VANGARD 75WG page 2 of 5

3 containing detergent, absorb with absorbent material such as pet litter, sweep up and place in the chemical container. Seal and label the container, and dispose of it in an approved manner. Flush the spill area with water to remove any residue. Do not allow wash water to contaminate water supplies or any body of water. SECTION 7 HANDLING AND STORAGE a. Handling practices: Keep out of reach of children. Avoid inhalation of dust or spray. Avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing, and wash thoroughly after handling. Remove contaminated clothing promptly, and wash it before wearing again It is important to avoid contamination of any body of water, such as domestic or irrigation water supplies, lakes, streams, ponds and sewers. Avoid contamination of food or feed. Do not allow persons to re-enter the area that has been sprayed for 12 hours after spraying. If re-entry is necessary, persons must wear coveralls, waterproof gloves, shoes and socks. b. Appropriate storage practices/requirements: Store jugs of VANGARD 75WG in a dry, wellventilated, secure area set aside for pesticides. Do not store food, beverages, or tobacco in the same area. Protect from heat, humidity, and open flames. Keep storage temperature above freezing. National Fire Code (Part 4) Classification: Not applicable SECTION 8 EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION a. Applicable control measures, including engineering controls: Handle this material only with adequate ventilation to maintain air-borne concentrations below the TLV. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing, and avoid breathing dust or spray mixture. b. Personal protective equipment for each exposure route: To avoid breathing dust, wear an approved dust or pesticide with dust pre-filter respirator. To avoid eye contact, wear safety glasses with side shields or chemical goggles. To avoid skin contact, wear nitrile gloves, full-length work clothes, rubber boots, and a head covering. To avoid ingestion, do not eat, drink, smoke or apply cosmetics in areas where there is a potential for exposure to this material. Wash thoroughly after handling. Results of studies on: Sensitisation: Dermal sensitisation, guinea pig - VANGARD 75WG was not a dermal sensitiser. Carcinogenicity: Cyprodinil was found to be not carcinogenic in studies with rats and mice. Reproductive toxicity: No adverse effects on reproduction or fertility occurred in rats exposed to cyprodinil over two generations. Teratogenicity: No teratogenic potential was detected with cyprodinil in tests with rats and rabbits. Mutagenicity: Cyprodinil is not mutagenic. Chronic exposure: Long-term toxicity studies with cyprodinil in rats, mice and dogs showed no significant toxic effects. d. Other materials that show synergistic toxic effects together with the product: None known SECTION 12 ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION VANGARD 75WG does not leach, and is rapidly degraded in soil. Cyprodinil is practically non-toxic to birds and honey bees, but moderately toxic to fish and moderately to highly toxic to aquatic invertebrates. Therefore, do not allow this product or effluent containing this product to enter lakes, streams, ponds, estuaries, oceans, or sewer systems. SECTION 13 DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS a.
