2 BIO SAM LOUWYCK Sam Louwyck ( Bruges, 1966) is a Flemish dancer, choreographer, actor and singer. He is known as a writer and performer of alternative ballet. Since 1993 he has been involved with Les Ballets C de la B. With this group he performed all around the world. He also acted in a growing number of films. 3 (c) Stefaan Achtergael In 2003 he made quite an impression with his rendition of the so-called Windman in the motion picture Any Way the Wind Blows, by Tom Barman. He got his next major role in Ex Drummer, by Koen Mortier, as the deaf guitarist Ivan Van Dorpe. In 2009 he took on the leading roles in Lost Persons Area, by Caroline Strubbe and 22nd May, by Koen Mortier. Just as he did in the Fifth Season, by Woodworth and Brosens (official competition in Venice Film Festival). Sam also performed in the critically acclaimed drama film Bullhead, which was nominated for an Academy Award in the category of Best Foreign Language film in In 2015, Sam received the Flemish Culture Award for In Le Meraviglie, by Alice Rohrwacher, he walked the carpet in Cannes Film Festival by the side of Monica Bellucci, to win Le Grand Prix Du Jury in Since he worked in, amongst other, d'ardennen (by Robin Pront), Malgré la Nuit (by Phillippe Grandrieux), Lobos Sucios (by Sergio Moure), Belgica (by Felix Van Groeningen), Keeper (by Guillaume Senez)... In 2017 he can be seen in Monk (by Ties Schenk), Cargo (by Gilles Coulier), Les Garçons Sauvages (by Bertrand Mandico) and others. 2
