The healthcare systems in emergency situations or low resource settings are usually not geared to treat these diseases. The WHO has developed a standardized kit that fills the gap between the interagency emergency health kit and the treatment of NCDs in primary healthcare, the Non- Communicable Disease Kit. NON COMMUNICABLE DISEASE KIT (NCDK) The non-communicable disease kit is a pre-packed, standardized medical kit for managing the most common non-communicable diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, chronic lung diseases, hypertension, cancer and selected mental health conditions. The NCDK contains oral medicines, renewables, medical devices and additional products. It serves ten thousand people for three months. The NCDK can be used in both emergency situations as well as in other low resource settings. Due to its modular set-up, it can be ordered as a complete kit, or the sub modules can be ordered independently. ONE-STOP-SHOP Imres keeps a minimum quantitiy of basic NCD kits in stock at all times. The kits are assembled and stored in our GDP-certified warehouse in the Netherlands, where we monitor the expiration dates to ensure a minimum of 12 months remaining shelf life upon shipment.
