1 Dear Friend, We are looking for corporate/community partners for our Autism Superhero 5k and Lil Hero fun run. The event will take place on Saturday April 28 th, 2018, at Chesapeake City Park in Chesapeake, VA. This event will help us close out Autism Awareness month with a bang! Proceeds from the event will directly benefit the which is a local community based organization helping Hampton Roads families facing autism. Our goal is to have over 500 race participants and community members attend this event. The provides much needed resources and services for individuals with autism and their families. Remember, all money raised stays local! Your partnership with this annual event is a great way to support families in our local community and provide hope for all affected by this challenging disorder. Autism is a neurobiological condition that affects a person s ability to communicate and to interact with others. More children will be diagnosed with autism this year than with childhood cancer, juvenile diabetes and pediatric AIDS combined. Autism is the fastest growing developmental disability in the United States. New data recently released from the Centers for Disease Control estimate autism affecting 1 in every 36 children, more than likely you know someone who has been affected by autism.
