3 Elevate General App Information: Elevate is a brain training game that helps to boost cognitive skills and focus. Although the whole game is not based around math, it is a fun game that includes math, and other cogitative reasoning skills. Elevate also includes adaptive difficulty progression to ensure the students experience is always challenging Price: FREE Direct Link to store: SAMR Level Level Rationale: Elevate is a way for students to challenge their brains when they wake up in the morning so that they come to school wide awake and ready to learn. Assessed by: Tim Arfons How can it help students with disabilities? This app is great for students to give their brain some exercise before a long day at school. Elevate allows students to warm up their brains when they wake up in the morning to get ready for a long day of learning. Back to Table

4 MindShift General App Information: MindShift is an app designed to help teens and young adults cope with anxiety. It can help you change how you think about anxiety. Rather than trying to avoid anxiety, you can make an important shift and face it. The app will help you learn how to relax, develop more helpful ways of thinking, and identify active steps that will help you take charge of your anxiety. MindShift includes strategies to deal with everyday anxiety, as well as specific tools to tackle test anxiety, social anxiety, panic, worry and performance anxiety. MindShift also provides the ability to check yourself by rating your anxiety level on a scale of 1-10 along with describing anxiety symptoms you may be experiencing. The app will then take the symptoms and keep a record of the situation and the symptoms and give helpful techniques to help in such situations. How can it help students with disabilities? The check yourself feature allows students with disabilities to record anxiety symptoms they experience in certain situations. Students can use the calming techniques and chill-out tools to help them calm down after a stressful time. AAC Autism App builds a home of luxury in communicating the daily basic needs such as Eat, Play, I want To, emotions and gestures. SAMR Level How can it help students with disabilities? This app goes beyond basic food and necessities, and provides picture demonstrations of emotions, allowing individuals with autism to also communicate how they are feeling. Additionally, if the words they wish to use are not easily accessible to them, AAC Autism Talk Now allows the individuals to simply type what they want to say into the app, and then the app with audibly repeat what was typed in. 6 CommBoards- Autism Communication-AAC Price: 4.99 Direct Link to store: s&hl=en General App Information: : Commboards enables children SAMR Level and people of all ages with limited expressive abilities to express themselves by tapping on a picture or a symbol (AAC) The tap is followed by the word being read aloud which in turn encourages oral speech and helps express thoughts and feelings How can it help students with disabilities? :CommBoards allows individuals with autism to communicate their needs, wants, emotions, and more through the use of pictures and audio. This app has a recording feature that records the audio around the individual, and saves it to promote recognition of certain people and settings. The pictures are customizable as well, so they can select a picture and establish the meaning behind it, which promotes easier recognition of the words they wish to use. Additionally, the individual can customize their frequently used board to access the words they wish to use easily. The audio is clear for the individuals, in order to promote effective speech development. Back to Table

7 Convey Price: Free Direct Link to store: General App Information: This application uses hundreds of different Mands (requests) which are identified as different everyday emotions, items, and places that the user can press to hear the name of the item, place or emotion spoken aloud. It also includes innovative features like Schedules and Contexts that adjust the set of icons / mands presented based on the time of day (breakfast, playtime, dinner, ), or location where you are at (i.e. home, school, restaurant, etc). Perfect for helping your child access the relevant requests for any given situation with minimal effort. SAMR Level How can it help students with disabilities? This app allows students with autism communicate basic needs, wants, feeling, and phrases through a system of recognizable images. Convey includes a customizable setting that adjusts the meaning of the words to include the context that they are used in, which is beneficial for language acquisition. In addition to Convey being used as a communicative device, it also has an interactive, visual schedule setting, which can be altered to meet the day. Children with autism can use this schedule as a visual prompt to complete activities and know what they are supposed to do next. Back to Table

LetMeTalk is donation financed. LetMeTalk enables you to line up images in a meaningful way to read this row of images as a sentence. To line up images is known as AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication). The image database of LetMeTalk contains more than 9,000 easy to understand images from ARASAAC ( Additionally, you can add existing images from the device or take new photos with the build in camera. SAMR Level How can it help students with disabilities? This app provides a series of pictures for students with autism to select from, providing an audible voice for each picture. Students can use this to voice their needs, opinions, wants, concerns, and feelings, as well as practice being polite and using their manners. This app sorts the various pictures into categories, making it easy to find what the child needs to say. In addition to the basic wants and needs, LetMeTalk can also be used in a hospital setting with a category of words being formulated around medicine. Back to Table
