2 The Days of Miracles & Wonder... and Science This symposium will focus on the advances made in pediatric oncology, immunology and bone marrow transplantation under the leadership of Dr. Richard J. O Reilly and how these are influencing the work of today and tomorrow. A One Day Symposium Honoring Dr. Richard J. O Reilly Dr. Richard J. O Reilly served as chairman of the Department of Pediatrics for 30 years. He spearheaded and developed the application of bone marrow transplants for patients with blood and marrow cancers and those with immune disorders. Educational Objectives Participants will improve their understanding of The development of novel therapies in Pediatric Leukemias, Brain Tumors, Neuroblastoma and Sarcomas. How new surgical approaches have improved quality of life, outcomes and survival. How unrelated donor transplants were made possible. Stem cell transplant as a platform for immunotherapy.
