The aim of the breast screening programme is to reduce morbidity and mortality from breast cancer. This is a challenging UK target for Wales due to the geographical consideration which is given when arranging assessment appointments. A review of assessment clinic arrangements is due to commence in early 212. Meeting this target is not within the control of Breast Test Wales but is monitored to indicate the timeliness of the breast cancer treatment for women diagnosed via breast screening. No comments at this time This target has not been achived due to the delays which are an inevitable consquence of the Digital Mamography Project Implementation in /212. Steps are in place to minimise the delay but the screening round will continue to elongate throughout 212. See above Screening activity has been reduced in the last 2 quarters of as an inevitable consequence of the Digital Mamography Project Implementation.
