3 Version Numbering: Each version that is distributed, even early draft versions, will have a unique version number. Drafts will be numbered 0.1, 0.2 etc. At the point at which it is believed that the document is ready for approval the version will be set to 1.0. From then on minor changes will increment by 0.1 and major changes will increment the major version number (e.g. 2.0). Versioning will be controlled by SharePoint. The version number will not be included in the filename. There is enforcement to check a file out before editing it. When a file is checked in, either the minor version or the major version must be incremented. The minor version must not be overwritten, this will prevent two different documents with the same minor version existing. Checked out documents will be deemed to be Under Construction.
