E. coli sequence is used as an outgroup. Conclusions Prevalence of Brachyspira spp. was 20.3% among the diarrhea pig. The pig that found the spirochetes was common between weeks of age. Biochemically, all isolates was identified as B. hyodysenteriae. Most of B. hyodysenteriae are strong hemolysis, indole postive and hipurate negative. Atypical indole - negative B. hyodysenteriae was reported firstly in Thailand. The provinces that found B. hyodysenteriae were Nakornpathom and Ratchaburi. Most of isolates were obtained from the farm with recovered of swine dysentery. Negative isolation of bloody diarrhea pig might cause by - Lawsonia intracellularis, salmonellosis, Trichuris suis,, Hemolytic. E. coli, Gastric ulcer. The protein profiles of 14 canine isolates were different from those of the references whereas that of the other 2 isolates were similar to that of B. pilosicoli. 13

14 Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) Comparative MICs (µg/ml) of various antibiotics against B. hyodysenteriae Karlsson and others, Karlsson and others, 2002 Routine susceptibility methods include breakpoint agar dilution, Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion and NCCLS broth microdilution. The MIC is defined as the lowest concentration of a range of antibiotic dilutions (expressed in mg/l, µg/ml), which inhibits all detectable bacterial growth. Interpretation: Breakpoint Standard Susceptible, Intermediate, Resistance The value in agar method being on average on step lower in broth dilution method.
