Wild viruses from environmental samples, selected contacts, healthy children and other sources. 3 In March 04, a serotype wild poliovirus was detected in an environment specimen from Brazil, further investigation indicates this is an isolated event without evidence of circulation. 4 Results are based on L0B positive culture. Prior to reporting week 6, 04, results were based on a combination of direct qrt-pcr on RNA from concentrated sewage and L0B positive culture. 5 Between 7 Sep 05 and 7 Sep 06, Nigeria was not classified as endemic.
