4 Venue Rome, World s Most Attractive Tourist Spot worth Visiting! Rome is the capital of Italy. Rome has a history of more than 2500 years. It is founded in the year around 753 BC. Rome or Roma got its name from the city's founder and first king, Romulus. Rome is also known as the Eternal City and the Capital of the World (Caput Mundi). It is one of the most visited cities of the world. It has many fascinating tourist attractions which you feel like visiting them once in a life. The most attractive tourist spots in Rome are St. Peter's Basilica, which is located in Vatican City. It is a Catholic church and it is where St. Peter, the chief disciple of Jesus was crucified upside down and buried. The interior height of the church is of 400 feet. It was built in 1615 and took 109 years to complete this beautiful church. The dome was designed by Michelangelo, the legendary artist. The other most attractive tourist spots are Colosseum, which is considered one of the Romans' architectural and engineering feats. It was built by Titus, of the Flavian dynasty in 80 AD. This magnificent elliptical amphitheater could hold up to 50,000 people who can watch all kinds of sports and entertainment. Another attractive tourist spot is Vatican Museums built in 16th century. It has several museums within the museum. It holds the collection of sculptures and other important collections by Pope Julius II. Vatican Museums has a magnificent spiral staircase, the exquisitely decorated Sistine Chapel; and the ceiling was painted by Michelangelo, which is the considered to the most fascinating painting ever painted by Michelangelo. Another tourist attraction is Pantheon built in 126 AD as a temple for all Roman Gods. It is one of the best preserved Roman buildings. Though it is 2,000 years old, the Pantheon s famous dome remains the world s largest unreinforced concrete dome. Eight graceful granite Corinthian columns extend across the front of this circular building, with lesser columns in back. Similarly there are hundreds of places in Rome which are worth visiting such as Trevi Fountain built in 1762 this world famous Baroque fountain features a mythological Neptune, god of the sea, flanked by two Tritons. The other one is Spanish Steps which link the Bourbon Spanish Embassy to the Holy See with the French church, Trinità dei Monti. All the places in Rome are worth visiting once in a lifetime.
