3 Introducing LegacyENDO LegacyENDO originated from a thinktank that has been questioning the rol of the so called Big Endo. How many times haven t we been forced to choose for example a new endodontic file system, where the old system didn t show any problems? The pace at which new file systems enters the dental market is significant and the average end-user is troubleing to keep up with all the new innovations. Is this the result of intensive marketing or are these new systems really better than before? In any case, they won t get any cheaper... Who is behind LegacyENDO The driving force behind the LegacyENDO files is D&S Dental, an abbreviation of Derek (Heath) & Steve (Treadway) Dental. With more than 30 years of experience, this American manufacturer of endodontic files is producing for all different major brands in the endodontic market. Derek Heath, the former owner of Quality Dental, is the creator of the LegacyENDO use of Nickel Titanium in endodontic files. He owns multiple patents regarding these NiTi files, of which the universal, multi tapered system is used all over the world. In 1995 Quality Dental Products merged with Tulsa Dental Products and both were purchased by Dentsply International in Until today, D&S Dental is still a major manufacturer of nickel titanium endodontic files. 4 LegacyENDO K-Files The LegacyENDO K-files are the first step in creating your legacy. Manual canal scouting is a fundamental clinical step for safer use of rotary files such as the Multi Taper, Controlled Memory or Cross Cut. Available in 21, 25 and 31 mm. and 9 different sizes, starting at ISO 06 for the most curved canals. Recommended: After scouting the canal with the LegacyENDO K-files, proceed the treatment with one of the LegacyENDO Apex Access files to create a clean and perfect glide path. 4 Create your own Legacy

6 LegacyENDO Apex Access The LegacyENDO Apex Access files are specifically designed to prepare the best glidepath in every root canal. Following up to three files (the Access 1, 2 & 3) the LegacyENDO Apex Access files let you start any root canal treatment with confidence. Use only one of use them all, it s all up to you. The LegacyENDO Apex Access 2 and 3 have been manufactured with the Controlled Memory Technology. This increases strength and flexibility, resulting in up to 800% greater resistance to cyclic fatigue stresses. The technology allows natural canal tracking and files can be pre-bent if needed. 8 LegacyENDO Multi Taper The LegacyENDO Multi Taper files are designed with a specific increasing or decreasing taper, giving you the best instrument for its purpose. Thanks to its unique design the handling of the Multi Taper files is very easy: don t apply any pressure, let the file do it s work. The shaping files have an increasing taper, creating a more flexibel file and minimizing the risk of root canal perforation. The thinner tips easily navigates through the canals, shaping the coronal and middle third of the canal. The finishing files have a decreasing taper, allowing them to remove debris easily, better clean the canals and avoiding a too large diameter at the coronal third and apex. 10 LegacyENDO Controlled Memory The LegacyENDO Multi Taper Controlled Memory files are similar to the Multi Taper: not only in design and taper, but also in handling (no pressure allowed). The Controlled Memory files have been manufactured with the Controlled Memory NiTi Technology. This technology increases strength and flexibility resulting in up to 800% greater resistance to cyclic fatigue stresses. Controlled Memory NiTi Technology allows natural canal tracking and files can be pre-bent if needed. Typically the fluted portion of the file will straighten out or unwind before separation occurs. 12 LegacyENDO Cross Cut The LegacyENDO Cross Cut files are the latest addition to the LegacyENDO family. This alternating file is specially designed to be used in any reciprocating motion. The Cross Cut files can be used in a motor designed for WaveOne Gold, Reciproc and TF instruments*. The unique thread of the files make sure to remove debris easily, no matter the rotation. All the Cross Cut files are manufactured using the Controlled Memory NiTi Technology, allowing the files to have a greater resistance against cyclic fatigue or other stress.
