General & Family Dentistry Our team is pleased to offer comprehensive general and family dental treatments. We are here to give you the best dental care possible to the community of Clark, New Jersey and we strive to do so by providing exceptional service! Although we also specialize in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, family dentistry is our favorite. We love to watch our patients grow up before our eyes. We offer several services to keep your family happy and healthy! Dental Exams Dental exams are important for maintaining good oral health. You should be visiting us twice a year or every six months for a full exam. This exam includes a complete inspection of your mouth for any signs of cavities, tooth decay, periodontal disease, oral cancer or any other oral health problems. It also includes a cleaning and usually x-rays. It s important not to skip your appointment every six months to ensure that your teeth and gums stay healthy. Sticking to your twice a year dental exams is the most important step of preventative dentistry. Dental X-Rays During your dental exam, Dr. Preziosi will also have dental x-rays taken to ensure that your teeth are as healthy as they appear. x-rays help Dr. Preziosi detect any damage, disease or decay that is hidden from his naked eye. In comparison to past technology, x-ray technology has improved immensely from going completely digital. It s a fast procedure and your images appear on the computer instantly, saving you time in the dentist office. X-rays are a crucial part of your preventative dentistry routine. Dental Cleanings During your exam, a hygienist will clean your teeth and remove any tartar or plaque that you re unable to brush off at home. Dental cleanings clean under the gum line, a spot you can t reach at home, which prevents bacteria from growing. If there is excess build up on your teeth, your hygienist will perform a deep cleaning (periodontics). Your cleaning will be finished off with floss and mouth wash and your smile will be clean and glowing. Don t put off dental cleanings, they are necessary for preventing gum disease. Your tooth brush at home isn t capable of giving you the cleaning that a hygienist can give you at the dental office. For the best way of preventing gum disease, visit your dentist regularly for an extra clean mouth. Dental Hygiene

Dental hygiene is important for maintaining a healthy smile and fresh breath! There s a reason it was embedded in our heads as children to brush our teeth twice a day and floss, it s essential for maintaining your teeth. It s also imperative that you brush and floss your teeth correctly. If your mouth still feels dirty after you re done brushing your teeth, talk to our hygienist about how to improve your dental hygiene practice at home. Lack of dental hygiene can result in bad breath, tooth decay, cavities and other unpleasant side effects. Save yourself the pain and money and brush twice a day and continue to floss regularly. Tooth Colored Fillings After Dr. Joseph Preziosi performs a root canal or cleans out a cavity, your tooth needs to be filled with a substance that keeps it looking nice and clean and resistant to infection. A dental filling is often used to repair a damaged tooth and restore its health. In the past, fillings were made from amalgam and contained mercury. Due to health risks and unsightly appearances, tooth-colored (composite) fillings are now used. If you have any unsightly amalgam fillings, Dr. Preziosi can remove them and replace them with tooth-colored fillings. You no longer have to worry about hiding your mouth after getting a filling. Root Canals When a tooth becomes infected at the root and starts to decay, the only way to save it is with a root canal. The treatment can take the time of one or more visits. The procedure will begin with x-rays of the infected tooth for Dr. Preziosi to view the roots. After he has examined your x-ray, he will place a rubber dam around your infected tooth to keep it dry and from there he will drill a hole, remove the infected pulp, decayed nerve tissue and related debris. He will finish with a deep cleaning of the tooth and seal it with a filling and possibly a crown, if necessary. You might feel a slight discomfort following the procedure, which is completely normal take over the counter pain medicine as directed. Oral Cancer Screenings Oral cancer isn t just something smokers and drinkers experience, it can happen to anyone. During your dental exam, Dr. Preziosi will examine your mouth and if he detects any unusual marks or bumps in your mouth, he will order a biopsy. It s important for patients of all ages to get checked for oral cancer, because like all cancer, if it goes undetected, it can be fatal. Dr. Preziosi also checks for oral cancer using his VELscope. This advanced technology can detect precancerous cells underneath the surface. It s better to catch the cancer before it s grown. This is why it s important to visit your dentist twice a year, not only to maintain a healthy smile, but a healthy mouth!

Tooth Extractions We provide tooth extraction in Clark, New Jersey, to benefit those with a crowded mouth, serious infection, or advanced periodontal disease. Although we only recommend tooth extraction if it s completely necessary, there are a few reasons why a patient might need their tooth extracted: impacted wisdom teeth, baby teeth that never came out, teeth decayed beyond restoration or preparation for implants or dentures. With the exception of wisdom teeth, you might be able to go through life without needing an extraction if you maintain a healthy mouth. Tooth extractions are a simple procedure. Dr. Preziosi will give you a local anesthetic to numb the area and possibly a sedative to relax you. After you re numb, he will cut away the bone tissue and gum that covers the tooth. He will then grasp the tooth with forceps and gently rock it to loosen it up. If your tooth is being difficult to pull, he will remove it in pieces. Extraction of wisdom teeth is a similar procedure. If they are impacted, however, he will have to cut into the jaw as well as your gums and bone tissue to remove it. Dr. Preziosi always checks with the patient throughout the procedure to ensure that they are not in pain and are comfortable. Mouth Guards Mouth guards can be beneficial to many of our patients, especially children. Mouth guards can benefit people who clench or grind their teeth in their sleep or throughout the day. It s important to protect your teeth from grinding and clenching, otherwise you might end up with worn down, fractured or flattened teeth which can result in further dental problems. They are also beneficial to people who play contact sports they can help protect your teeth from being broken, knocked out or chipped during intense sport play. This prevents you from spending time and money in the dentist office in the future. Periodontics Periodontics is the dental procedure that prevents, diagnoses and treats periodontal disease for patients of all ages, especially elderly patients. Gum disease can lead to tooth loss so it s crucial to keep your gums in perfect health. Symptoms of periodontal disease include: bleeding and swollen gums, tender gums, loose teeth and gum recession. Gum disease can cause many problems outside of just tooth loss including: heart disease, diabetes or pregnancy complications. Dr. Preziosi will examine your gums and determine which procedures will resolve your periodontal disease. Click here to learn more about periodontics.

Periodontics Periodontics is the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease and oral inflammation. Periodontal disease is also known as gum disease. It s imperative to detect and treat it in the earliest stages to maintain the health of your teeth, gums and jaw. If left untreated, it s found to be connected to conditions like diabetes, heart disease and pregnancy complications. Periodontal disease cannot be prevented from brushing and flossing alone, you will need to come into the dentist twice a year for cleanings and exams. Dr. Preziosi offers several treatments for periodontal disease. Scaling and Root Planing Plaque and tartar buildup on your teeth can create the perfect place for bacteria to grow. These bacteria will lead to gingivitis which can be treated in the early stages with a professional cleaning (scaling). If your gingivitis goes untreated, the bacteria will start growing into your roots, resulting in you needing root planning. Root planing removes infected areas and smooths out the surfaces of your roots. These procedures can take anywhere from one appointment to two, occasionally requiring a local anesthetic for pain-free results. Other Treatments There are several ways to treat periodontal disease, depending on how far the infection has gone. Some options include prescription mouth washes, antibiotic gels and pills placed directly on or in the infected gums. Other alternatives include surgical treatments. This includes bone and tissue grafts which encourages new bone and gum tissue growth. Another surgery is a Flap Surgery your inflamed pockets are pulled back and tartar is removed. If your disease has spread far enough, you may need a bone surgery that will help with bone loss. The bone surrounding the tooth is reshaped to decrease craters which will decrease the likelihood that bacteria will grow. Surgery is never fun, which is why we recommend that you visit us at the earliest signs of gum disease.

Risk Factors of Periodontal Disease Smoking- if you need another reason to quit (other than the obvious) smoking increases your chances of developing periodontal disease and lowers your chance of successful treatment. Diabetes- if you have diabetes, you re at a higher risk for developing infections like periodontal disease. Medications- Heart medicines and antidepressants are amongst some of the medications that cause dry mouth which affects your oral health and can cause infection. Hormonal Changes in Women- Hormonal changes can cause gums to become more sensitive, making gingivitis more likely. Illnesses- Cancer, AIDS and other diseases and their treatments have side effects that affect the health of your gums. Stress- According to research, stress lowers your body s ability to fight infections, which can leave you with a gum infection. Genetics- Periodontal disease can be a genetic condition that you have no control over. Prevention Floss Daily Visit the dentist regularly for cleanings Eat a healthy diet Brush teeth twice daily Don t smoke or use tobacco products Contact us today at (908) if you are experiencing swollen, bleeding, or receding gums. 6 Porcelain Veneers/Lumineers If you re looking for perfect teeth but don t want to undergo several different procedures, porcelain veneers might be for you. They can correct teeth that are chipped, uneven, misaligned, crooked or discolored and refuse to whiten. Porcelain Veneers are thin shells made of porcelain that fit to go over your teeth! We also offer Lumineers as an option, which are thinner than porcelain veneers and can be installed with little to no preparation. Teeth Whitening Are you embarrassed by your yellowing teeth every time you eat, smile, or talk? If so, Dr. Preziosi can help with professional whitening treatments. Unlike over the counter toothpastes, strips and mouth washes, Dr. Preziosi offers deep bleaching that gives you results that last and whiten better than any store bought treatment. Smile Makeover Dr. Preziosi wants to make sure you re happy with your smile, which is why he offers smile makeovers. A smile makeover can include one treatment or several to give you the smile you desire. Dr. Preziosi will examine your teeth and discuss treatments with you to create your smile makeover plan. Bonding Would you have a perfect smile if you did not have that one stubborn tooth with a chip or crack? If so, we are happy to provide dental bonding to fix the tooth and give you the smile you want! There are many reasons why bonding should be considered; it s inexpensive, quick and easy. It can also typically be accomplished in one visit and requires very small amounts of the tooth to be removed. The process is fairly easy and doesn t usually require any anesthesia. Fix your tooth today with dental bonding. Inlays/Onlays We offer dental inlays and onlays to repair a tooth that is too damaged to repair with a filling but not damaged enough to need a crown. These restorations can be made from gold, composite, or porcelain materials that save the healthy portion of the injured tooth and provide strength and stability for everyday use. By choosing to use an inlay, your dentist will place the

material in the center of the tooth. If you need an onlay, Dr. Preziosi will place the restoration on the outside areas, like the corners or points of a tooth. Dental inlays and onlays are beneficial options because they do not require the removal of a large amount of the healthy tooth, unlike the process of placing a crown. This is a treatment that can restore the tooth to its original condition and also make it stronger. It might take a couple visits to the dental practice to complete because the inlays and onlays are made in a lab after your dentist sends them impressions of your teeth. Once the inlay or onlay has been made, it will be fitted and bonded to the tooth. Snap-on Smiles If you re looking for an inexpensive way to fix your gapped, crooked, stained smile or perhaps you have missing teeth, Snap-on Smiles might be for you. With a Snap-on Smile, you can regain confidence in your smile at a low price. Snap-on Smiles are made out of hi tech dental resin that fits right over your teeth to give you a natural looking smile. You can eat and drink with your Snap-on Smile and remove it whenever you want. Whether you want it for a permanent or temporary cosmetic solution, it will drastically improve the appearance of your smile. If you live in the Clark, New Jersey area and are in need of cosmetic dentistry, contact the office of Dr. Preziosi today at (908) to schedule an appointment, or fill out our online contact form to be contacted. Porcelain Veneers If you re struggling with multiple issues that are keeping your smile from being less than perfect, porcelain veneers might be for you. They are ideal for people who struggle with: Stained Teeth Uneven Tooth Lines Worn or Damaged Teeth Gapped Teeth Uneven Sized Teeth

Chipped or Cracked Teeth All of these problems can be easily fixed with porcelain veneers instead of undergoing multiple procedures such as dental bonding, teeth whitening or orthodontics. Procedure Before deciding on porcelain veneers, you should know that they cannot be removed once they are put on. The procedure consists of Dr. Preziosi consulting with you and figuring out what you need to get out of your veneers. He will then make impressions of your teeth and mouth to prepare for the next steps. The next step involves preparing your teeth for the veneers. Under a local anesthetic, Dr. Preziosi will shave around half a millimeter of your enamel (the surface of your tooth). This is the same thickness as the veneers so he can ensure that the veneers will look completely natural. He will then take an impression of your teeth again to be sent off to the lab where your veneers will be constructed and delivered within one to two weeks. If you re unhappy with how your teeth look until your veneers come, you can always get a temporary veneer placed at an additional cost. When your veneers arrive at Dr. Preziosi s office, you will return so that your veneers can be bonded to your teeth. The veneers will be test fitted to your teeth, trimmed as necessary, your teeth will be cleaned and etched to create a surface your veneers will bond to. He will then apply a special cement to your veneers, place it on your teeth and then shine a light beam that is specially made to activate chemicals in the cement to harden quickly. Dr. Preziosi will then remove any excess cement and examine your bite and fit. You will schedule a follow up appointment within a few weeks so Dr. Preziosi can ensure that your veneers fit properly and aren t irritating your gums. Your veneers should last anywhere from five to ten years. You should care for them like your regular teeth. Lumineers What s the difference between Lumineers and Porcelain Veneers you might wonder? Lumineers are thinner than porcelain and can be removed if necessary. Lumineers also don t require your enamel to be scraped off due to their thinness. This is more beneficial to your dental health because your enamel protects your teeth. It also downsizes the amount of time you will spend at the dentist office. Whichever procedure you choose; both can transform your smile into one you ve always dreamed of.

If you live in the Clark, New Jersey area and are interested in porcelain veneers or Lumineers, contact the office of Dr. Preziosi today at (908) to schedule an appointment, or fill out our online contact form to be contacted. Teeth Whitening Teeth whitening can benefit almost any smile by giving it a fresh, young and clean appearance. If your teeth are dull and yellow whether from age or just enjoying necessities like red wine and coffee, teeth whitening can benefit you. Learn more about our procedure and how it can transform your smile. What Causes Stained or Yellow Teeth? There are tons of things in life that can stain your teeth, here are the most popular: Smoking- another good reason to quit smoking, it affects the color of your teeth (and health of your mouth and gums!) Red Wine, Cola, Coffee- there are many delicious drinks out there, don t let them ruin your smile. It s true that whitening toothpaste, strips and mouth washes enhance your smile, unfortunately they don t give the same results that your dentist can give you. Over the counter products are not legally allowed to contain the amount of bleaching that professionals use in office which is why you can never achieve the same results at home. Instead of throwing your money away at whitening strips and other products, it s more financially efficient to schedule a treatment at your dentist. The Procedure Dr. Preziosi offers deep bleaching at his office and also take home trays and gels so you can whiten on your own time as well. The procedure is easy and fast; you will sit in the chair and Dr. Preziosi will fill your mouth tray with the bleaching gel and then place it in your mouth. Within 30 minutes, your teeth will be significantly whiter. He will also send you home with trays and whitening gel so you can achieve a bright smile at home.

Dental Bridges Do you want to fill the gap between your teeth and finally have a perfect smile? If so, Dr. Preziosi in Clark, New Jersey, may recommend a dental bridge to do the job! A dental bridge is made up of two crowns that are placed on both sides of the gap with fake teeth in between. These false teeth can be made of gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials. A bridge can restore your smile, maintain the shape of your face, give you the ability to properly chew and speak once again, and prevent your natural teeth from drifting out of position. The process of placing a dental bridge usually takes about two office visits. During your first visit, the abutment teeth are prepared. This involves your dentist removing a portion of your tooth to allow room for a crown to be placed. After part of the tooth is removed, he will make impressions of your teeth and send them to a lab. Once your bridge is made, you will come back to the office so we can check and adjust the bridge. If it is the right fit for you, your dentist will cement the bridge into place.

Dental Crowns Your crown placement should generally take two visits to the dental office. The first visit will involve examining and preparing the tooth. Your dentist will take x-rays to check the roots of the tooth, and if the tooth is affected from decay and infection, a root canal treatment might be required before the crown is placed. Next, your dentist will numb the area around the tooth and file it down to allow room for the crown. Dr. Preziosi will make impressions of your teeth and send them to the lab, where the permanent crown will be created. Your second visit will involve your dentist cementing the dental crown into place after it is tested and proved to have the right fit and color. Dentures Have you lost multiple teeth? At Dr. Preziosi s office in Clark, New Jersey, we offer the best care for our patients in need of dental crowns. Why Get Dental Crowns? Crowns are ideal for patients whose teeth have suffered significant damage or need protection from a large filling. They offer your tooth protection from decay and harm while giving it strength. These are a few of the situations that would require you to need a dental crown: Replacing large metal fillings To cover the tooth following a root canal To protect the tooth from severe damage To place on top of a dental implant Chipped or broken teeth The Procedure If you are replacing an old crown, whether metal or porcelain, it will need to be removed prior to the placement of the new crown. On your first visit, Dr. Preziosi will take impressions of your tooth after removing the old crown, if applicable. He will then send your tooth impressions off to the lab for your crown to be created. In the meantime, you will have a temporary crown in place. On your second visit, he will cement your new crown to your tooth and leave you with a fully functional tooth. After your crown is in place, it will look and function completely naturally, as well as protect your proper bite alignment. Your journey to dentures will begin with an in office consultation and an exam of your gums and remaining teeth. After deciding on what kind of dentures you will be getting, you will make a plan with your dentist. If you re getting implant dentures, it will take extra time due to inserting the implants first. Regular dentures have a much faster turnaround time. You should also consider factoring in time for any necessary tooth extractions before getting your dentures. When you re ready, Dr. Preziosi will take impressions of your gums to ensure that your permanent dentures fit perfectly, with no slipping or sliding. While waiting, you will have temporary dentures to hold you over. Dr. Preziosi will explain to you how to care for your dentures and gums following your appointment. If your dentures aren t fitting correctly, they will be sent back for new ones. If you re considering dentures or have already decided you want and need them, contact us today at (908) to schedule a consultation with Dr. Preziosi. We want to help you regain your smile and functionality of your mouth once more. Dental Implants Do you want to fill the gaps in your mouth with fixed, permanent teeth that you never have to worry about falling out? If so, we provide dental implants to replace your missing teeth. Dental implants are very versatile and can be used to replace just one tooth, a few teeth, or all of your teeth. They feel completely natural and help you regain confidence in your smile, without having to worry about dentures falling out or noticeable bridgework. Dental Implants look and function just like real teeth. Unfortunately, they are rarely covered by insurance companies which causes many people to turn away from their many benefits. If you are willing to spend the money, dental implants are completely worth it. What are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are titanium metal device screws that replace the root of your original tooth. It s inserted in the jawbone and then a dental crown is attached, leaving you with a natural looking and feeling tooth. At Dr. Preziosi s office, we offer several different implant options. Implant Options Single Tooth- replace one of your missing teeth. Multi-tooth- replace more than one missing tooth. All-on-4 implants- replace as many teeth as you need with only 4 implants to anchor a full set of teeth on each jaw. Procedure The process of getting implants is pretty simple. First, you will have a consultation with Dr. Preziosi where you will discuss your options. After agreeing on your implant type, you will schedule a time to get the implants inserted into your jaw. During this procedure you will be under a local anesthetic, so you don t have to worry about pain. You will then need to wait for your gums and jaw to heal this can take several months. During this time, you can be fitted with a temporary bridge to protect your implant while it heals. After the swelling subsides and your mouth is healed, he will attach your crown to the implant. Then you will leave the office with a new smile! Implant Care Caring for your dental implants is similar to caring for your real teeth. You will need to brush your teeth twice a day and floss daily in order to protect any of your natural teeth and to also keep your gums healthy. If your gums are unhealthy, your implants can fail. That s why it s important to still keep great dental hygiene by brushing, flossing and not smoking even though your implants can t decay like real teeth. Plaque buildup along the gum line can result in gum disease which can weaken your implants. Dental implants can also be damaged if you bite down too hard. This will harm the crown since it s made out of porcelain, which reacts similarly to natural teeth when it comes to biting and grinding your teeth. If you experience teeth grinding, make sure to tell Dr. Preziosi so he can fit you with a mouth guard to protect your dental implants. As long as you keep a healthy mouth, you can expect your dental implants to last for the rest of your life. If you re tired of using dentures or dental bridges to hide your missing teeth, you should consider getting dental implants that will last a lifetime with proper care. Regain your confidence, contact us at (908) today to schedule a consultation.

During sleep, your tongue can position itself in a way that blocks your airway, resulting in Obstructive Sleep Apnea which causes snoring. Dr. Preziosi offers a solution to your sleep apnea with reposition guards. If left untreated, sleep apnea can really affect your health. If you suspect that you have sleep apnea, contact our office today for an appointment. Sedation Dentistry It s normal to experience a little bit of anxiety before a major visit to the dentist, but if you re experiencing anxiety to the point where you refuse to go to the dentist, your oral health can be suffering. If you re finding it hard to go to the dentist, or sit in the chair long enough to get any work done, you should consider sedation dentistry. At Dr. Preziosi s office, we care about your oral health which is why we try to make you as comfortable as possible. We offer both oral sedation and nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to relax you. If you re going to be using sedation dentistry, make sure to find a ride to and from the dentist office in case the sedative hasn t worn off. You will be completely conscious during the procedure, but entirely relaxed. Don t procrastinate your dentist appointments any longer, contact us today to set up your procedure and mention that you would like to use sedation dentistry. If you live in the Clark, New Jersey area and require special dental treatments, contact the office of Dr. Preziosi today at (908) to schedule an appointment, or fill out our online contact form to be contacted. TMJ / TMD Your lower jaw works like a hinge and is responsible for most of the work your mouth does. This includes talking, chewing, yawning and etc. Anything you do that moves your jaw up and down or side to side is affected by your temporomandibular joint (TMJ) located in front of your ear. The problems that arise in your TMJ can be caused from Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD).

It s important to know TMJ is your joint, and TMD is the disorder that affects the joint. TMD can be caused from multiple reasons: Clenching your jaw or grinding your teeth Arthritis in your TMJ Stress causing tightening of your facial and jaw muscles The disk that acts as a cushion located in between the socket and ball of TMJ has moved Whiplash TMD can occasionally be a temporary problem, going away on its own. Unfortunately, a lot of the time, it won t. It usually occurs in people around the age of 40, buts it s also been found in younger people. Women are also more likely to experience it than men. Whether it s recent or has been happening for a longer time, you should seek treatment if you re experiencing any of the symptoms. Treating it will prevent any damage from happening to your teeth. Symptoms of TMD Include: Facial Swelling Clicking or popping sounds when opening or closing your jaw Experiencing lock jaw Uncomfortable and painful chewing or biting Tenderness in the shoulders, neck and face Trouble opening mouth all the way Dizziness and ear aches These symptoms can affect daily life, leaving you uncomfortable and in pain most of the time. If left untreated, TMD can lead to tooth loss, chronic pain, damage to muscles and ligaments, and jaw deformities. Luckily there are solutions available to you at Dr. Preziosi s office. Treatment Dr. Preziosi will examine your joints in your mouth and jaw for tenderness to figure out what s causing your TMD and determine what the best solution for you is. He will also listen to your jaw as it moves around. It s possible you may need to get x-rays or an MRI if it can t be diagnosed. In some cases, treatment might include eating soft foods and taking an antiinflammatory until your pain subsides. If that doesn t help, common solutions for TMD include something as simple as a mouth guard to stop your teeth from grinding at night, or if your bite is irregular, Dr. Preziosi might recommend bridgework or crowns. In rare cases, you would need surgery for an effective treatment. During your diagnosis, Dr. Preziosi will determine the severity of your condition and advise the necessary treatment.

If you are experiencing the symptoms of TMD, contact us today at (908) to schedule an appointment to prevent your teeth from gaining further damage. If you prefer, you can fill out our online contact form or send us an and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Laser Dentistry At Dr. Preziosi s office, we like to make our patients as comfortable as possible, this includes the use of laser dentistry. We use the Den Mat Sapphire Diode Laser in several of our treatments. Lasers are becoming the future of dentistry; there is less pain, faster recovery, less discomfort, better results, faster procedures and there s no drilling sound! The Diode Laser is specialized for soft tissue and requires little to no local anesthetic compared to traditional methods. Procedures Laser Dentistry can be used for both hygienic procedures and surgical procedures. For patients who are terrified of the drill, lasers provide a quieter and faster visit to the dentist. This is extremely beneficial to children s dentistry. It s possible your child may need a dental procedure and the sound of the drill terrifies them, luckily, laser dentistry is quiet and will reduce the likelihood that your child will need any needles poked into them for a local anesthetic. Lasers can also be used during a cleaning and can help remove any plaque or tartar on the teeth or near the gum line. It s extremely effective during periodontal treatments, which can at times be painful and make your gums bleed. Laser dentistry stops your gums from bleeding as much as they would with traditional methods and will require little to no local anesthetic. Laser dentistry is great for eliminating bacteria, plaque and tartar that can be inflaming your gums. If you ve experienced bad periodontal treatments in the past, ask your dentist to try it with laser dentistry next time. Laser dentistry is also helpful during invasive surgical procedures. During the procedure, the laser decontaminates the area between the teeth and gums and removes diseased gum tissue. It only removes the damaged and infected gums, leaving your healthy gums and teeth behind. It can also be used for gum contouring (aka crown lengthening). This procedure removes any excess gum tissue forcing you to have a gummy smile. This procedure can also be used to prepare teeth for the installation of dental crowns. Laser dentistry can also be used during whitening treatments. With a variety of treatment options, using laser dentistry instead of traditional methods provides many benefits. Benefits of Laser Dentistry Less gum bleeding

Little to no local anesthetic needed Quiet Fast Efficient Less gum swelling If you want to improve your oral health by using laser dentistry for removing tooth decay, cleaning the area before procedures, reshaping your gums, removing small tissue and lesions or just have a more comfortable cleaning or periodontal treatment, you should consider laser dentistry. Contact us today at (908) to schedule an appointment for your laser dentistry procedure. Technology Experience better dental care with the help of new technology used at Dr. Preziosi s office. We re always striving to make your experience at our office better with the help of the latest in dental technology. We want you to like caring for your oral health and these products only make your visit faster and more enjoyable. Learn about the latest technology we re using in the office. Digital X-Rays X-Ray technology has advanced immensely over the years. You no longer have to wait for them to develop and be printed. With digital x-rays, it takes less than five minutes to x-ray your entire mouth and they will immediately be uploaded to the computer to view. They produce much clearer pictures and are more environmentally friendly and less toxic. They will also provide you with a more accurate diagnosis than old x-rays. Experience digital x-rays today! Den Mat Sapphire Diode Laser The Den Mat Sapphire Diode Laser is used for several procedures. Most importantly, it lessens the amount of time spend in the chair and is a more comfortable alternative to traditional dental care. There are many benefits to using laser dentistry including less bleeding, faster procedures, better results, less pain, better treatment, no tissue scaring and faster healing. Laser dentistry is the future of dentistry. Experience the many benefits today! Oral Cancer Screening

Unfortunately, only 35% of oral cancers are diagnosed before they have progressed. This is because of limited examination techniques available to dentists up until now other than a visual exam. Thankfully, products like the VELscope have been created. It s hard to know if you have cancer or pre-cancer in your mouth if you can t see it with your naked eye. With VELscope, precancerous cells can be detected beneath the surface. When you catch your cancer in the precancerous stage, your five-year survival rate goes up to 80%, while with conventional methods, your five-year survival rate is 52%. It s important to catch the cancer as early on as possible so we can ensure you a better recovery! At Dr. Preziosi s office, we want to make sure our patients stay in the best health possible, which is why we invested in an oral cancer screening product like VELscope. Schedule an appointment today to get your oral cancer screening with VELscope. If you live in the Clark, New Jersey area and want to experience the future technology of dentistry, contact the office of Dr. Preziosi today at (908) to schedule an appointment, or fill out our online contact form to be contacted.
