POSTGRADUATE: : Faculty of Dentistry, University of Baghdad, Iraq. -awarded M.Sc. degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with very good grade WORK EXPERIENCE Aug Till present: Faculty member - College of Dental Medicine - Sharjah University During this period I participated in the following academic activity (theoretical, preclinical, and clinical). 1- I was the stream coordinator for the Human Biology 2 for six years ( ). I was fully responsible in arranging Anatomy lecture lab. Schedule, coordinate all frequent assessments and final exams and grading the student. 2- I am fully responsible for Anatomy Lab. (teaching Head & Neck Anatomy using all modalities of multimedia in teaching). The lab. consists around 25 sessions that covers most of the practical points related to the Head & Neck Anatomy with more emphasis on the clinical correlations. In addition I gave two lectures covering all the points related to the anatomy of the oral cavity. 3- I am coordinating Humanitarian Center Visit on weekly basis, through which a group of third year students sent to the Humanitarian Center and we teach them how to deal and communicate with disabled patients to provide proper dental care. 4- I am teaching Third, Fourth and Fifth year students Oral Surgery course, this course consists of preclinical, clinical, and theoretical lectures. Topics that I covered through this course include: Basic principles of surgery, principles of exodontia, complications of exodontia, management of impacted teeth, dental

4 4 management of medically compromised patient, management of odontogenic infections, preprosthetic surgery & dental implications of maxillary sinus. 5- I am member of a team that covers the preclinical sessions related to local anesthesia in dentistry. These sessions given for the second and third year students. 6- Demonstration of various Oral Surgical Procedures for the fourth and fifth year students through my slot in VIP Clinic in Sharjah Dental School. Dec 2006 July 2008 : Specialist dentist in Legend Medical Center in Sharjah, during this period I dealt with so many dental problems at specialist and general practitioner level, including oral surgical procedures, conventional fillings, root canal treatments, crown and bridges, prosthodontics, periodontal treatment and special care for pediatric dental patients. Oct 2006-Nov 2006 : process of getting MOH license Oct Sep 2006: - Private dental clinic, full time work in Iraq. My private clinic located in the Baghdad city, it is well equipped and furnished, treated approximately 350 patients per month, dealing with a wide varieties of dental problems including emergency treatment of acute dental pain, swelling and infection, management of impacted teeth, oral pathologic lesions, management of referred cases from nearby dental clinics for those who are medically compromised and require special preparation, fractured teeth or roots, oro-antral fistula. Dec Sep 2005: Department of oral and maxillofacial surgery in Baghdad Teaching Hospital, related to faculty of dentistry, university of Baghdad. -specialist in oral surgery -senior lecturer Through this period I did the followings: Academic work with the dental students (fourth and fifth class) helping them with a varieties of surgical complications as well as a clinical work demonstrating for the students varieties of oral surgical procedures. Complicated extraction (unlimited number) Management of impacted teeth, including mandibular and maxillary third molars, impacted canines, supernumerary teeth (more than 75 patients). Management of peri-apical lesions (more than 50 patients) Management of intra and post operative complications including,bleeding, fractured root, oro-antral fistula, dry socket, dental infection ( unlimited number).

5 5 Management of different oral pathologic lesions through incisional,excisional or aspiration biopsy Preprosthetic surgery including sharp ridge remodeling, alveoloplasty, vestibuloplaty with and without mucosal graft. Pre orthodontic treatment surgery including surgical exposure of an impacted teeth and frenectomy. Management of traumatized teeth (more than 10 cases). During the above period I practiced dentistry in my private clinic. Oct 1997 Nov : Faculty of Dentistry, University of Baghdad -Post graduate student -Obtained masters in oral and maxillofacial surgery -The above is a three year taught course which prepares the student for the practice of oral surgery at specialist level. It involved courses in basic sciences, medical science and dental specialties or relevance in the first year followed by theoretical course in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery associated with clinical training course in oral surgery in the second year, while the third year concentrated on the organization and preparation of a thesis. During the above course (in the first year) medical clinical attachment achieved in Baghdad Medical Teaching Centre, the clinical attachment includes the following branches: From 15/3/1998 to 30/4/ 1998 in the General Medicine Department From 2/5/1998 to 15/6/ 1998 in the General Surgery Department From 16/6/1998 to 11/7/ 1998 with consultant general anesthetist From 12/7/1998 to 27/7/ 1998 in the X-ray Department From 29/7/1998 to 13/8/ 1998 in the Ophthalmology Department From15/8/1998 to 27/8/ 1998 in the E.N.T Department From 29/8/1998 to 19/9/ 1998 in the Neurosurgery Department From 20/9/1998 to 5/10/ 1998 in the Dermatology Department During the above course ( in the third year) a research project was done,the project was entitled ( comparative study of the effect of diclofenac sodium and ibuprofen on postoperative complaints following mandibular third molar surgery), the study was conducted on 114 patients requiring surgical removal of mandibular third molar. August 1995-Sep. 1997: Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Baghdad Teaching Hospital, related to faculty of dentistry, university of Baghdad. Through this period I got training in minor oral surgery (as an operator or assistant) including conventional extraction (more than 200 patients), complicated extraction (more than 50 patients), and preparation of the patients who are medically compromised through medical consultation or laboratory investigation., management of impacted teeth (more than 30 patients), management of peri-apical lesions (more than 30 patients), management of intra and post operative complications (unlimited number), and management of different oral pathologic lesions.

6 In addition to the above, during this period I practiced general dentistry in a poly clinic centre as well as get clinical attachment with specialists in periodontology, orthodontics, and conservative dentistry. 6 August 1994-july 1995: Baghdad teaching hospital, related to faculty of dentistry, university of Baghdad, Baghdad. Dental house officer A compulsory 12 months post graduation dental experience. The above teaching centre is the main and the largest teaching centre in the country.
