Masoomeh shirzaiy, 1 Zahra Momeni 2 Received: 11/May/2011 Accepted: 22/June/2011 Background: Oral sub mucous fibrosis () is a precancerous condition that often developed in users of various forms of production consist of areca nut. Consumption of this production is common in countries such as India and Pakistan and also in cities neirboring Pakistan Such as: Chabahar. Present study was done for evaluation of oral sub mucous fibrosis and some related factors in areca nut products users. Materials and Method: In this descriptive analythical and cross sectional study,362 ones that use various form of areca nut products (pan,supari,gutka,.)were studied for assessment occurrence of. Criteria for diagnosis were limitation of mouth opening,mucousa stiffness and palpation of fibrotic bands in mucousa, also data correlate with dose,frequency,kind, and length time of consumption was recordered in questionnaire.finally the data analysed by SPSS 14 soft ware and chi square. Results: From 362 areca nut users, ( 227(62/7%) men and 135(37/3%) women),61 ones (16/9%) (33 person (%54/1) males and 28 (%45/9) females), affected to. There was Significant correlation between prevalence of and length time, dose and frequency of consumption( p<0/05).age and six is not associated with occurrence of.(p>0/05) Conclusion: The present study confirms the strong association between areca nut use and.
