108 Many studies have analyzed the suspected causes of external apical root resorption (EARR). Particularly, amount of force, duration of active treatment, and amount of lingual root torque were suggested as factors in EARR. Intruding mechanics has also been considered a factor related to EARR. In our study, root resorption averaged 0.8 mm in the implant group and 1.2 mm in the J-HG group. The amount of root resorption in both groups was similar to that of previous studies about root resorption during orthodontic treatment.
