5 Veneers Design Technique Biogeneric, Correlation or Biogeneric reference. Antagonist either OI of opposing tooth with a Buccal Bite OI or Direct OI of Bite reg material (as before) NOTE! OI for a veneer is now taken incisally and NOT labially

6 Bridges Design Technique Biogeneric or Biogeneric reference. Antagonist either OI of opposing tooth with a Buccal Bite OI or Direct OI of Bite reg material (as before)

7 Buccal Bite Technique Optical Image of Prep. Take OI s of 2-3 teeth mesial to prep - roll camera to capture buccal surfaces as well. Have patient bite together and take Buccal OI of teeth occluding. One OI is usually enough, taken of teeth mesial to prep OI of opposing teeth - again, roll camera to capture buccal surfaces as well

8 Correlating Buccal Bite Images Drag the buccal bite image up to the antagonist OI and the images will shrink wrap together. Then, drag down the combined model onto the prep

9 Rotating the Buccal Bite If the buccal bite image is upside down then dragging the bite image up from below the centre line will rotate the image (opposite true for dragging down)

10 Biogeneric Crowns Biogeneric data taken from distal tooth or mesial tooth if no distal or average anatomy if no teeth. There are no databases (Lee Cup etc) any more!

11 Correlation Improvements Only need to draw in green Copy Line (no need to draw Pink Line)

12 Correlation Improvements Can now use Scale tool on all the lines (though you shouldn t need to do this!)

13 Replication Improvements - now called Biogeneric reference Preparation Replica Tooth in Occlusion Window Antagonist - note: no buccal bite in replication

14 Biogeneric reference 1. Select tooth you are using as the reference from the pop up tooth chart 2. Double click in centre of tooth to be replicated which will place a red dot Biogenic process will determine anatomy based on the replica tooth

15 Minimal Thickness Parameter Changes to the blue cloud over the preparation:- Occlusal - minimum occlusal thickness Radial - walls of restoration, prevents problem of the clue cloud push through the proximal surfaces Veneer - for Biogeneric veneers

17 Trim Improvements No model rotation Once you start trim you can no longer rotate the model. This stops part of the adjacent tooth/prep being cut off. Can rotate model after first cut has been completed for the second cut

18 Configuration Options menu from Settings, Confuguration, Options now simpler. Can have Parameters menu pop up each time - is only useful if you want to alter the Minimal thickness warning values for different restorations

19 Pre -Positioning Design, Pre positioning For Crowns only - produces a crown without any automatic contacts or Settling/ Cusp settling (ie ignores Antagonist. Useful if initial proposal poor.

20 Vita Real Life Blocks Based on Triluxe but with curved enamel layering Move tooth within block to vary enamel translucency Can only use with the MCXL milling unit

22 Impression scanning OI Impression directly

23 Invert impression Move cursor to left of image window and click on the popout White arrow then moves underneath to indicate this is a scan of the impression Can also scan opposing impression or teeth direct and a buccal bite direct.

24 Completed model You can combine buccal bite direct with impression scans and direct teeth scans

25 Other Info re. 3.8 OI for Veneers now taken from incisal view as for crowns - no labial OI s (I would suggest rolling camera to capture more of labial surface). Does mean can now do veneers which wrap around or incisal overlap preparations. Some of the veneer practice examples in the CEREC 3D, Patient DO NOT WORK! These were OI s take from older software. Option to mill Thin Veneers 300u with MCXL Bridges - initial proposal much improved There appear to be a few minor bugs. Centre does not seem to work properly. Virtual grinding can still crash the program so save before using. Have had a case where program crashed when going into milling preview - when finished your design Save before going to milling preview. Minimal thickness blue cloud is sometimes missing.
