Anger arousal is associated with greater pain intensity, muscle tension and interference with function and relationships in time-lagged analyses. The greater anger, the greater consequences. Anger regulation whether expression (anger out) or inhibition (anger in) is associated with greater pain intensity, muscle tension and interference in time-lagged analyses. Uh-oh now what? Best advice: Blowing up at people typically alienates them; doesn t resolve anything Stuffing down merely buries problems; leads to seething anger typically alienates other; doesn t resolve anything; bad for health. Use some anger control but use anger energy to resolve problem Anger as a secondary emotion look for primary emotion
