Cutimed ACUTE Urea-based skin care Gentle cream mousse a selection for all moisture needs.
Cutimed ACUTE Balanced hydration Dry skin is associated with aging, environmental, and medical conditions such as diabetes and can lead to conditions ranging from itch and inflammation to skin tears or cracked skin providing a route for infection. Effective rehydration restores the skins barrier functions, increases flexibility and extensibility and reduces pain and inflammation in the rehydrated areas. Key causes of moisture defi ciency Well hydrated smooth supple skin functions optimally to reduce trans-epidermal moisture loss (TEML), patient discomfort, pain, inflammation and infection that may occur when the skin is allowed to dry out. Dry skin can result from many factors including: Healthy skin, maintaining normal moisture levels age medical conditions such as diabetes, or venous hypertension poor nutrition or hydration dry environment excessive bathing or showering Dry skin, showing reduced barrier function and increased moisture loss A moisturizer containing urea can be highly successful in counteracting dryness and soothing the skin.
02 03 Urea: the body s own moisturizing agent Urea is present in healthily skin where it helps regulate moisture balance and keeps skin functioning at its best. When applied to dry skin Urea binds with water and helps it penetrate the skin barrier to deliver moisture where it is needed most. Once rehydrated skin becomes supple and regains its protective functions. UREA Smooth, supple, hydrated skin Binds water and delivers it through the skin Provides deep moisture penetration Restores barrier function and reduces TEWL Benefits of urea penetrates dry skin to deliver needed moisture reestablishes the barrier function of the skin reduces itching, pain and inflammation returns skin to its smooth and supple condition helps naturally debride loose and necrotic tissue compatible with garments and hosiery
Cutimed ACUTE Cutimed ACUTE: the dry skin specialist Cutimed ACUTE foam mousse brings effective relief to those suffering from dry skin in a format convenient to apply by patients or their caregivers. Cutimed ACUTE is available in 3 urea concentrations to manage the spectrum of dry skin conditions from mild to severe. Dermatologist tested and fragrance and irritant free Cutimed ACUTE is rapidly absorbed leaves no greasy residue to breakdown dressings or compression products or stain bedding. dermatology tested 3 % Urea Mild to moderate dry skin 5 % Urea Moderate to severe dry skin with scaling or cracking Dry skin as complications of diabetic or venous conditions 10 % Urea Severe / extremely dry skin with scaling or cracking Dry skin as complication of diabetic or venous conditions All three formulations are well suited for use with compression stockings.
04 05 Cutimed ACUTE cream mousse delivers all round performance Cutimed ACUTE delivers comprehensive relief as well as or better than existing lotions: Efficient mousse delivery a little goes a long way Effective urea based hydration quickly restores fluid balance and barrier function 3. Three levels of urea select just the strength required 4. High urea formulation effectively softens and exfoliates hyperkeratosis 8. Compatible with compression hosiery and bandages 7. Rapidly absorbed no sticking to clothes or compression hosiery Hydrates without leaving greasy residue smooth comfortable skin Fragrance free, colorant free formulated for use on sensitive skin
Cutimed ACUTE Proven to be effective on the fragile skin of diabetics Proven effectiveness in the treatment of dry skin associated with diabetes Cutimed ACUTE urea based formulation is ideally suited for the management of diabetic dry skin. Example: diabetes mellitus Increased blood-sugar levels Deposits narrow the blood vessels and affect nerves Neuropathic changes peripheral changes: loss of protective sensation autonomic changes: decreased production of sweat and sebum Circulatory changes reduced oxygen and nutrient supply impaired healing Result: dry scaly / cracked skin Result: reduced ability to resist injury or heal Special skin care requirements Special requirements of the skin surrounding the wound and the rest of the body Oil-based product may occlude the skin of diabetic patients while Cutimed ACUTE urea based therapy allows rapid penetration of moisture to where it is needed without occluding skin. Study of diabetic patients using Cutimed ACUTE* Figures indicate significant reduction in patient skin related complaints after 4 weeks treatment: Patients with itchy skin Patients with rough skin Patients with dry skin Day 1 Day 29 Result: Tests show a marked improvement in the skin of diabetics in terms of dryness, roughness and itchiness after using Cutimed ACUTE. * Source: Wigger-Alberti W., proderm Study No , 2008; tested products: Cutimed ACUTE 5 % and Cutimed ACUTE 10 %
