2 2 Interview with Aerial Pole Artist, Jasmine Grace! Has pole dancing changed your life, if so, please explain how? There is no doubt that pole dancing has changed my life. In the most obvious way, I have lost over 30 pounds from pole dancing alone. Secondly, I have met some of the most amazing people from all over the globe. Since pole dancing is such a niche art form, it is hard to find people to talk about it with. That is where YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, StudioVeena, and even my own social network Online Pole Studio have come in. I have friends in 6 continents. Not many people can say that. It has opened my mind in many ways. Lastly, pole dancing and the extremely supportive pole community have helped build my self-confidence. I am now a pole instructor and I give a lot of thanks to the pole community for that. Being a wife and involvement in additional activities, how do you make time to pole dance? My husband is very supportive of me pole dancing. He's my biggest fan. I don't think i could do it all if he didn't believe in me. I have an X-pole at home, so there really is no excuse for me to not make time to practice at least once a week. It is easy to fall off the wagon, especially with all of the bruises and muscle aches, but the results are always worth it. How often do you pole dance? I usually pole dance 2-3 days out of every week. One of those days I get to teach beginner pole dance at a local fitness studio. Who are the person(s) that inspire you the most with pole dancing? Everyone. Honestly. I am self-taught from youtube, so I can truthfully say that I have been inspired by just about anyone and everyone that has put themselves out there and uploaded a video. I learn from my peers. It is hard to learn from the pros. They make it look effortless. My favorite pole pros that I aspire to be like are Jenyne Butterfly, Oona Kivela, Zoraya Judd & Felix Cane.
3 3 Not everyone understands the art of pole dancing, but if you had the opportunity to get others to understand the art pole dancing, what would you say? I think that pole dancing is still defining itself as an art. It is so new and it could take so many turns really. There are many different ways of expressing yourself on the pole. Some people use the pole strictly for fitness, some use it for burlesque style/exotic dance, and some use it for acrobatics. I tell people that I like to use the pole for acrobatics, but it certainly doesn't hurt that I am getting a good workout while I practice. Pole dancing can only fully be understood by those who have tried it, but I am a big fan of showing off YouTube videos of pole stars like Jenyne or Oona and letting the sport speak for itself. You can tell someone all the facts, but it won't matter if they already have something pictured in their mind. The best thing to do is to break that picture with what you want them to see. Many people haven't even seen pole dancing in this light before. Over time, minds will open. What advice would you give to upcoming pole dancing artist? That pole dancing is one of the most fun and empowering ways of staying physically fit. Getting started is the hardest part, but if you can make a commitment to practice at least once a week or more the results will amaze you! There is a huge online pole community out there ready and willing to help all newbies without passing judgement. There is no excuse to ever give up. We've all been there. I have seen all shapes and sizes approach the pole. Everyone can learn to pole dance! See more photos of Jasmime on the next page!

6 6 Women Workout Too! (Circuit Training) Article By: Marcus J. Jennings, March 24, 2012 On march 24, 2012 I had the opportunity to photo shoot these very fit ladies. It s not often that you run into women who love to be challenged physically the way men normally workout. Ladies, if you want bodies like these you have to do circuit training, which is what these ladies do 2-3 times per week. I advise you to purchase p90x, hire a circuit trainer, or team with a buddy who wouldn't mind working out. You want to team up with some one that is going to push you to the limit! You may have the excuse that you don't have the equipment or can't afford the equipment, right? You don't necessarily need any exercise equipment to circuit train. When I circuit train the only equipment I use is a pull-up bar. If you don't have a pull-up bar you can do pull-ups on a playground at the park or buy a bar from Wal-Mart that you can attached to your door for about 20 bucks. If you can buy cosmetic products you can invest in your fitness as well.
7 7 Once you have your pull-up bar here is a sample workout you can use. Sample workout: 50 jumping jacks, 25 squats with no weights 15-20, pushups 35 sit-ups 5 or more pull-ups (No rest until you complete this circuit) If you can t do the amount of reps above than do what you can do. You will work yourself to this and it will get easier. Try doing this work out 4 times per week.

9 9 Article Continued... You want to do a workout like this with no rest in between the exercises. Once you've completed a set and rest for 2 minutes you should repeat this same workout 2 more times. Circuit training saves a lot of time that many of you don t have. Do what you need to do and be done with it, especially if you have a busy schedule. The above workout only takes 10 minutes to complete. This sample workout will give you an entire body workout and the no rest after each exercise gives you a cardio and muscle building workout at the same time. A workout such as this one kills two birds with one stone.
