2 NB: All citizens of Chelsea that participates to the Health Challenge will be able to attend, free of charge, one class of each one in the list below. In addition, every participant will have access to the fitness centre once in April, Finally, one hour of public skating per week will be offered free of charge to Chelsea s residents. To have access to those promotions, the participants will have to show a proof of registration to the Health Challenge. DANCE - CHILDREN CREATIVE DANCE Saturday: 8.45AM 9.30AM (10 weeks) Start: Saturday, April 14 th 2018 End: Saturday, June 22 nd 2018 Age: 3-5 Through play and imitation, children will learn the basic elements of dance, movement, energy, space, rhythm and timing. The class on Saturday, May 19 th is cancelled. PRE-BALLET Saturday: 9.30AM 10.30AM (10 weeks) Start: Saturday, April 14 th 2018 End: Saturday, June 22 nd 2018 Age: 6-8 Classic dance basics for future ballerinas, rhythm, coordination, free movement and full body expression. HIP-HOP The class on Saturday, May 19 th is cancelled.
3 Saturday: 10.30AM to 11.30AM (10 weeks) Start: Saturday, April 14 th 2018 End: Saturday, June 22 nd 2018 Age: 8-12 Hip-Hip is one of the most recognized dances for getting into shape while performing a routine. Like sports, the dynamics of this type of dance require flexibility, endurance and form control. The class on Saturday, May 19 th is cancelled. ACRO DANCE Saturday: 11.30AM to 12.30PM (10 weeks) Start: Saturday, April 14 th 2018 End: Saturday, June 23 rd 2018 Age: 8-12 Acro dance blends the art of acrobatics and gymnastics with dance. While working on new skills with partners or solo, students will improve flexibility and strength while learning new tricks and moves. The class on Saturday, May 19 th is cancelled. PARENT-CHILD DANCE Wednesday: 9.30AM to 10.30AM (6 weeks every second Wednesday) Start: Wednesday, April 4 th 2018 (April 4, 18; May 2, 16, 30; June 13) End: Wednesday, June 13 th 2018 Cost: R $72 NR $82 Age: 18 months 3 years Pure fun through sensory stimulation and movement! This program focuses on improving rhythm, coordination, balance and motor skills. We use creative props and popular children s music to help participants reach their creative and physical potential. PARENT-CHILD FUN MOUNTAIN BIKING
4 Thursday: 6pm to 7.30pm (4 weeks) Start: Thursday, May 3 rd 2018 End: Thursday, May 24 th 2018 Cost: R $140 NR $150 Age: Children aged 7-9 with parent (wheel size 20" to 24" diameter) A colorful four-week mini Rock Paper Scissor Mountain Bike Camp for kids age 7 to 9 (wheels size 20" or 24" diameter) and parents in partnership with LaRoccaXC Mountain Bike School. Learn the FUNdamentals (Long Term Athlete Development)of cross-country mountain biking to guarantee your full enjoyment of the sport. From changing gears to proper body positioning on the bike, the children will learn, accompanied by their parents, through a variety of skills and drills and mini challenges. Every coaching session will start with a mini 'rock solid paper plan' followed by an experiential ride in area, hence, the scissor component of the program. Along the way, we will cover basic emergency repairs and first aid awareness. *Class goes rain or shine! LITTLE LOTUS FAMILY YOGA (IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LITTLE LOTUS YOGA) Dates: Sunday, April 15 th 11:30-12:30pm Sunday, May 6 th 11:30-12:30pm Sunday, June 10 th 11:30-12:30pm Cost: $25 per family per week Age: 3-8 Take time out as a family to cherish and nurture your mind, body and spirit while exploring the joys of yoga. Individual and partner postures will be utilized to relieve tension, play with coordination, increase balance and develop a strong mind and body connection. Relax the mind through meditation, both guided and self-explored and celebrate the warmth in your heart as your spirit soars. This class is for children ages 3-8 and an adult participant. HIKE! PLAY! YOGA! (IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LITTLE LOTUS YOGA)
5 Dates: Sunday, July 8 th 9:30-11am Sunday, August 12 th 9:30-11am Sunday, September 9 th 9:30-11am Cost: $30 per family per week Age: Children up to 8 Join Pamela Giroux, Certified Forest School Practitioner and Yoga Teacher for 90 minutes of hiking, forest school play, movement and yoga. Hike! Play! Yoga! is for families with children up to the age of 8. Please note that older children are welcome to attend but the yoga portion will be geared towards the under 8 crowd. FAMILY FUN FITNESS Friday: 10AM to 11AM (10 weeks) Start: Friday, April 13 th 2018 End: Friday, June 15 th 2018 Age: All ages You have a child at home and you want to get out there and train? Why not come work out with us at the Meredith Centre where you will get the opportunity to train and also spend time with your child? This class is open to all ages and will give you the opportunity to work on mobility and strength with the option of having body weight exercises, exercises including your child and exercises including free weights and stability balls. The style of the class includes yoga-based exercises and functional movement patterns where alignment and core connection are crucial. Looking forward to be seeing you guys on the mat! GYMNASTICS CLASSES (IN PARTNERSHIP WITH UNIGYM ) Saturday: 9am to 11.45am (8 weeks) Start: Saturday, April 7 th 2018 End: Saturday, June 2 nd 2018 Ants (18 months - 3 yrs) 9am 9.40am $105 Ladybugs (3 yrs - 4 yrs) 9.45am 10.35am $115 Grasshoppers (4 yrs - 5 yrs) 10.45am 11.45am $125 Age: 18 months - 5 yrs Gymnastics fun for the little ones with qualified and experienced instructors from Unigym. In this safe and positive environment, your child will improve their gross and fine motor skills through various movements and exercises. We will jump, roll, swing, balance and have lots of fun. 6 FITNESS BOOTCAMP, CARDIO, STRENGTH & STRETCH Wednesday: 6pm to 6:45pm (11 weeks) Start: Wednesday, April 11 th 2018 End: Wednesday, June 20 th 2018 (+tax) This high energy class, incorporating elements of HIIT, is sure to make you sweat! With this combination of strength and cardio exercises you'll burn more calories, build endurance and improve your overall fitness! All fitness levels are welcome. CORE, STRENGTH AND STRETCH - Tuesday Tuesday : 8:10am to 9am (11 weeks) Start: Tuesday, April 10 th 2018 End: Tuesday, June 19 th 2018 (+tax) A 45 minute class for all levels that focuses on strengthening abdominal muscles. We use dumbbells, exercise balls and a stability ball to develop balance. CORE, STRENGTH AND STRETCH - Thursday Thursday: 8:10am to 9am (11 weeks) Start: Thursday, April 12 th 2018 End: Thursday, June 21 st 2018 (+taxes) FITNESS FOR ACTIVE AGING Tuesday & Thursday Tuesday: Thursday: 9:10am to 10am (11 weeks) 9am to 10am Start: Tuesday, April 10 th 2018 End: Thursday, June 21 st 2018 Cost: R $165 NR $175 (+taxes) Age: 45+ For beginners to intermediates, the course focuses on muscular strength and cardiovascular endurance. Exercises alternate using aerobic steps, weight training, training intervals and stability balls.

9 PILATES Monday: 7pm to 8pm (10 weeks) Start: Monday, April 9 th 2018 End: Monday, June 18 th 2018 This Pilates class will focus on how to increase and improve your fitness level. It will also explain and teach you how to improve your posture, balance, coordination and increase your flexibility. Pilates exercises also help to strengthen the back and tone abdominal muscles. This class is a great way to learn the basic exercises of Pilates. The classes on Monday, May 7 th & May 21 st 2018 are cancelled. YIN YOGA WITH MEDITATION AND GONG Monday: 9pm to 9.55pm (10 weeks) Start: Monday, April 9 th 2018 End: Monday, June 15 th 2018 Yoga Yin classes and meditation with Gong covers 10 classes. Yoga Yin is a gentle yoga. We will learn different postures of stretching that will give you relaxation and flexibility. This will be followed by a meditation with the sound of a Gong. Pure relaxation! The classes on Monday, May 7 th & May 21 st 2018 are cancelled. ESSENTRIC Monday: 8pm to 8.55pm (10 weeks) Start: Monday, April 9 th 2018 End: Monday, June 15 th 2018 In these classes, we will combine stretching postures and strengthening exercises. You will gain flexibility as well as muscle tone. Strengthening exercises will be done with lively music and deep stretching with soft music.
