3 Teaching Experience Instructor of Record Body Weight Management (BYU-Idaho) Teach students a comprehensive approach to weight loss. Students are taught the principles of health eating and how to calculate caloric requirements as well as develop comprehensive programs for themselves as part of class requirements. Human Anatomy and Physiology Lab (BYU-Idaho) Students learn anatomy for the body tissue types, the skeletal system, the muscles, the nervous system, the eyes, and the ears. The fundamental principles of human physiology as it relates to cardiorespiratory and muscular system are taught. Weight Training (University of Utah) Students learn the basics of resistance training. Instruction will include how to safely perform traditional resistance exercises. Students will also learn how to apply the training principles of overload, progression, periodization and the basics of program design. Training and Planning (University of Utah) This course has specific application for individuals pursuing personal training, strength and conditioning, or coaching careers. Students are prepared to sit for the certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) exam offered through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Applied Exercise Programming (University of Utah) This course introduces some of the fundamental laboratory techniques used for the field of Exercise Physiology. Students obtain a hands-on experience developing an effective exercise program according to ACSM guidelines. Students are prepared to sit for the certified exercise physiologist (ACSM-EPC) exam offered through the American College of Sports Medicine. Kinesiology (University of Utah) This course will help students understand and apply kinesiological principles. Students engage in the process of learning how to qualitatively analyze the movements of the human body and to discover underlying principles. As a result of integrating information from musculoskeletal anatomy and neuromuscular physiology you will be better able to help your students/clients perform with optimum safety, effectiveness, and efficiency. College of Health Summer Camp (University of Utah) Structure and provide a week-long course for high school students interested in studying in the field of health. Expose students to various disciplines within the field of health such as kinesiology, exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor control, sports medicine, and human anatomy. Teach principles surrounding these disciplines in a succinct, clear, and comprehendible manner. 3

The focus will be on assessing and examining oxygen consumption, muscle strength and power, cardiovascular responses and respiratory responses.
