Kong Dear Colleagues, Scholars, Scientists, and Friends: On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I welcome you to the Global Cardiology Summit to be held at the AVANI Atrium Bangkok, Thailand on July 12-13, The theme of this year s meeting is Fostering Advances in Cardiac Research. In addition to the foundational sessions for intervention, surgery, pharmacology, and imaging, the meeting agenda includes several pioneering cardiovascular therapeutic areas including cardio- oncology, cardio-geriatrics, cardiac regeneration, and personalized medicine. Diverse challenging cases submitted from every corner of the globe will be reviewed by international experts. 9 Venue Bangkok, Thailand s capital city is known for its ornate shrines and vibrant street life. It is an international hub for transport and health care. Historic buildings and temples are scattered throughout the city of Bangkok. The Grand Palace is one of the Thailand s most important tourist sites. Buddhism is considered the country s official religion, and Bangkok is Thailand s Buddhist center, home to many of the country s most famous temples, called wats. Bangkok s famous temples include the Wat Pho and the Wat Traimitr. The Wat Pho temple is home to the 35-meter-long Reclining Buddha, and the Wat Traimitr temple houses the world s largest solid-gold Buddha, weighing five metric tons and standing three meters high. The Royal Ceremonial Barges are another popular attraction. These elaborately decorated, intricately carved longboats take the form of mythical creatures and are only used by the king on special occasions. Thailand is the wonderful destination with rich cultural background, incredible diversity and a delightful climate suitable for travel almost all year round. The country attracts tourists from all over the world with its stunning beaches, beautiful sceneries, first class hospitality, temples, ancient ruins and welcoming locals, all sporting a permanent smile, that is why Thailand is also called The Land of Smiles. Thai people are generally gentle, hospitable and open-hearted. Being proud of the fact that Thailand is the only country in Southeast Asia never colonized by a European power, they call themselves their country The Land of Freedom. Bangkok is a shopper s paradise. It has received the title of stopping the buyer, as it is a great place to shop. The place is packed with various shopping options from high-end, gleaming malls to street markets offering cheap clothes. You can find anything from jewellery and trendy clothes to souvenirs and handicrafts in Bangkok.
