2 Non-Invasive Imaging and Sud PROGRAM DESCRIPTION This course will present the role of currently available non-invasive imaging modalities, including echocardiography, CT, and MRI, in the diagnosis and management of children and young adults with lesions known to be high-risk for sudden death. In addition, the program will present currently available data on the role integrated imaging may play in predicting outcomes for these patients. Topics to be covered include dilated and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, as well as anomalies of coronary artery origin and course. The format includes didactic lectures, panel discussion, and debate, with enthusiastic and knowledgeable speakers, known for their specific expertise within this arena. Presentations will emphasize strengths and weaknesses of each imaging modality, and how to best apply the data to the management of individual patients. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES At the conclusion of this activity, participants will demonstrate the ability to: Use appropriate imaging techniques to identify hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in children and recognize characteristics which distinguish HCM from athlete s heart. Define the role of echo and MRI for risk stratification of patients with HCM. Use echocardiography to characterize dilated cardiomyopathy. Recognize the strengths of echo and MRI both for the diagnosis of LV non-compaction and for their utility in predicting outcomes. Evaluate for dyssynchrony and recognize its clinical application. Use echocardiography to diagnose anomalies of coronary artery origin and course. Identify which imaging modality is most appropriate for follow-up of patients with diagnosed coronary anomaly. WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Adult and Pediatric Cardiologists, Cardiologists-in-Training and Sonographers Registration Fees: Physicians: $ ASE Members: $ Cardiac Sonographers: $75.00 ASE Sonographer Members: $60.00 Residents/Fellows: $50.00 Conference Location: ICHAN Medical Institute 1425 Madison Avenue at 98th Street New York, NY Directions: Discounted parting is available on East 99th Street between Madison & Park Avenues.
