2 KLINIČNO VPRAŠANJE Ali uporaba standardiziranih pripravkov Ginkgo bilobe izboljšuje miselne sposobnosti, kot sta spomin in koncentracija pri zdravi populaciji?
3 OPREDELITEV PROBLEMA Kognitivne (miselne) sposobnosti so višje kortikalne funkcije definirane kot procesi, ki se ukvarjajo s pridobivanjem, zadrževanjem informacij in/ali manipulacijo z informacijami.
4 Bilobil je standardiziran izvleček listov (Ginkgo biloba L.). Vsebuje: flavonske glikozide in terpene (ginkolidi in bilobalid) Učinki: 1. povečajo toleranco možganskih celic do hipoksije 2. vazodilatacija krvnih žil 3. zboljšujejo pretok krvi 4. zmanjšajo agregacijo trombocitov

7 POVZETEK VIROV IN OSNOVNIH DILEM The dose-dependent cognitive effects of acute administration of Ginkgo biloba to healthy young volunteers: V tej študiji so raziskovali učinek posameznih odmerkov Ginka (120, 240, 360mg) na miselne sposobnosti zdrave populacije na podlagi izpolnjenega vprašalnika na začetku in več ur po zaužitju. Dokazali so značilno izboljšanje, ki se je začelo po 2,5 uri in trajalo 6 ur, pri zaužitju 240 in 360mg. Differential cognitive effects of Ginkgo biloba after acute and chronic treatment in healthy young volunteers: Na primeru študentov so potrdili učinek na spomin in pažnjo po enkratnem zaužitju in dokazali ne učinkovitost po šest tedenski vsakodnevni vporabi pripravkov Ginkga, ker je nakazovalo razvoj tolerance pri mladi zdravi populaciji.
8 POVZETEK VIROV IN OSNOVNIH DILEM Ginkgo biloba: no robust effect on cognitive abilities or mood in healthy young or older adults: Študija je uključevala 93 zdravih odraslih (55-79 let) in 104 zdravih mladih (18-43), so spremljali učinek vsakodnevnega 12 tedenskega jemanja 120mg Ginkga na miselne sposobnosti in niso dokazali statistično značilno izboljšanje pri obeh skupinah. Ginkobiloba extract improves working memory performance in middle-aged women: role of asymmetry of prefrontal cortex activity during a working memory task: V novejši študiji iz leta 2014 so merili oksigenacijo prefrontalnega kortexa pri zdravih ženskah ki so 6 tednov jemale 120 mg Ginkobila dnevno in ugotovili da je oksigenacija večja, ter da bi ta učinek lahko uplival na izboljšanje miselnih sposobnosti.
9 PRIPOROČILA ZA PRAKSO Na podlagi prebrane literature, člankov dostopnih na portalu PubMed, lahko zaključiva, da dolgotrajna uporaba rastline Ginkgo biloba ne kaže pozitivnih učinkov na miselne sposobnosti pri zdravih posameznikih.
