5 GAA HEALTHY CLUB PROJECT Ground- breaking, award winning project In partnership with Healthy Ireland, Health Service Executive (HSE), National Office for Suicide Prevention, Public Health Agency (PHA) and Irish Life (CSR partners) Began in 2013 with the aim to make every GAA club in Ireland a hub for health 150 participating GAA clubs across the 32 counties

9 FITNESS Ireland Lights Up Partnership with RTÉ s Operation Transformation & Get Ireland Walking Bringing together communities to make exercise more accessible GAA Clubs turned on their flood lights so communities could walk in a safe, bright & enjoyable environment 150 clubs signed up across the 32 counties Over 6,000 walkers each week

11 HEALTHY EATING Recipes For Success Cooking classes & nutrition workshop in partnership with Home Economics Department at St Angela s College Sligo Benefitted 400 young players, mainly young men aged years 62 72% increased interest in nutrition 30 56% increased nutritional knowledge
12 MENTAL HEALTH Cork Beats Stress Stress control programme in partnership with Cork GAA Clubs & the HSE Qualified HSE psychologist equips participants with the skills needed to cope with stress Over 1,200 people have completed course 25% of programme participants were male Findings from the HSE s evaluation show that participation resulted in a significant reduction in symptoms of anxiety, depression and stress
13 HEALTY HABITS Smoke Free Clubs Almost 50% of clubs have gone completely smoke free Partnership with local primary schools Signage provided to clubs through PHA/ HSE Croke Park smoke free pilot: 2017 All Ireland Hurling Semi- finals Cork V Waterford

16 Croke Park Stadium Situated in a high-density neighbourhood with 2,000 households located within a 500m radius Further 24,000 households in the stadium s wider 1.5km community radius Croke Park Community Fund - to date over 900,000 allocated to local groups & resident associations who are making positive and lasting contributions in local area In 2017, the fund had its busiest year with over 100,000 allocated between 58 local groups The regeneration of Croke Villas - working with Dublin s City Council to provide new social housing, a new entrance to Croke Park & a world class National Handball and new Community Centre for our neighbours
