JAMES PRUITT 870/ lv msg, LIBRARIAN BOB KARR, 870/ , Newsletter Editor Sherman Anderson 870/ PRESIDENT S MESSAGE Hi All: The main item on the agenda this month will be the election of officers for At present this is the list of candidates: President Darcie Didden Vice President----Ed Boiteau Secretary Art Ritter Treasurer Gerald Garrison and Bob Shaffer Librarian (No candidate) Anyone who wishes to do so may submit his/her name as a candidate for club office before or at the meeting Saturday. Where more than one person runs for the same office, a written, secret ballot will be provided and the winner announced. We especially need someone to take over the Librarian's duties. We will also be asking for firm commitments for the number of tables needed at the Annual Show and Sale on December 1 at the BC Fairgrounds. This will be the last meeting prior to our annual Christmas Luncheon. We will have the gift exchange (swap?, theft?) as usual. Gift cost should be limited to no more than ten dollars. Participation in the gift exchange is not necessary and everyone is encouraged to come to the luncheon. We will pass around a sheet for sign-up to help in food preparation and table set-up. 2 VICE PRESIDENT S MESSAGE From Darcie Didden, V.P. - Time is growing close for our 22nd Annual Show & Sale, December 1st. At BAXTER COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS Please consider supporting the Show & Sale if not as a vendor then consider one of the many duties, such as helping place our big signs around the Mountain Home area. You can help by setting up/breaking down tables at the fairgrounds, working the kitchen, the greeting table, doing a demo during the show (we usually have 4 or 5 demos), donating a turning for door prizes and I'm sure there are additional duties I haven't thought of. Everybody needs to participate in this venture for our club to survive. Your participation is needed and appreciated. CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON DECEMBER 15 The next Club Function in December after the SHOW and Sale will. be our annual Christmas Luncheon at the Lakeview City Hall on Saturday Dec. 15. The club will provide Pete Drew s Pulled Pork with sauce and we bring pot luck side dishes bread and desserts. Bring a Dirty Santa gift with value limit of $ If possible give one of your woodturning or tools. Give your reservations to Darcie Didden. CAVHS (Veterans wood turning program support) Up-date:11/17/18 James will not be able to be our DAV Coordinator next year. We need to name and train his replacement before Jan 1, Members are reminded to bring their DAV prepared pen blanks to the meeting. James will have more blanks for preparation at the meeting if he can get more pen tubes. We have sent an estimated $388 of turning blanks to the DAV woodturning program since the last meeting. 3 MINUTES OF OCTOBER MEETING Meeting called to order president Ron at 1:08 pm. Albert Baker was a guest with 24 members in attendance. There were 7 members participating in show and tell. President Ron encouraged members to participate in the up coming elections. James Pruitt explained the duties of the treasurers job. Our Christmas party will be held at our meeting hall on December 15. Darcie volunteered to chair the event. She will report at the November meeting. Our show and sale at the Baxter fairgrounds will be December 1. All interested must reserve a table by the next meeting. Treasurer s report that the club has $2, VA coordinator s job is still open. James Pruitt will not be doing this next year. A volunteer is needed. Meeting adjourned at 2:00. Joe Meskaitis did the demo on eight-part Christmas ornaments.
