If it is determined that services are needed, a sheriff s deputy, will pick the person in need (adult or minor) and take them to the Mercy Emergency Department for medical stabilization and admittance to the Behavioral Med Unit for (72 hours - 5 days), then have a hearing with Judge (in-person) and Judge will review doctor s recommendation to determine if treatment should be mandated (in-patient/ out-patient) See treatment below. 1
