Starting on May 15, I will be handling the sign-up and scheduling of volunteers. We need three members for each shift. The shifts are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 5:00pm to 9:30pm and 9:30pm to 2:00am. The Sunday shifts are 3:00pm to 9:00pm and 9:00pm to 2:00am. The Millionaire Party/Poker Room fundraiser is held at MoMo's Poker Room in Taylor, 5841 Telegraph Road, Taylor This is located one building south of Van Born in the Taylor Police FOP Hall. Sign-up and finalization of the schedule will be on June 2. All hours count as work hours. All Lincoln Bowmen members only sell chips and redeem them back at the end of the night. We have nothing to do with the actual poker games.

ADULT ARCHERY CLASS (by Nick Adams) Lincoln Bowmen's Adult Archery class has filled up this session.stay tuned for future Adult Archery classes. Please note clubhouse will not be available for open shooting on Wednesdays beginning June 1 to August 10 during class hours (6:00pm - 7:30pm). 3 PRESIDENT'S CORNER (by Jim Mende) We just finished the IBO shoot here at Lincoln Bowmen, we had a lot of compliments on the grounds and the target set up. Shooters thought it was challenging, but fair. Good job to all involved. Everyone get ready, the poker room is coming up and we need your help. I m sad to report that Karl Keesee has stepped down from the Board of Directors, do to personnel reasons. There is a lot of behind the scenes work that was done, that helped keep this club going that we are going to miss. Karl will still be around just not as involved as before. Jim McGinnis as stepped up to take over the Vice President duties, thanks Jim. Mike Schmer has been appointed to the board to fill the vacancy left by Karl. Angel Elliot has stepped down from the board, Mike Perez has stepped up to fill the position of Recording Secretary. We do have an open spot on the board. If anyone is interested in serving the club in this fashion please get ahold of me. My contact info is at the end of the newsletter. Remember no matter what you shoot, have fun. CLUB COMPLIMENTS (by Jim McGinnis) Lincoln Bowmen hosted the IBO shoot May 7 and 8, run by Mike Perez. We heard nothing but compliments on the club course and how well kept the grounds are. I was approached by one shooter who told me "you can see the members take pride in their club. On that note WE NEED HELP at Saturday work parties. We have mostly the same gentlemen that are up here every week doing all the work. We start at 9:00am almost every Saturday (weather permitting). If you can help on Saturdays, call Jim McGinnis (313) to be directed to a project that we need help with. If Saturdays don t fit your schedule, but another day does, give me a call and we can work something out. SUMMER LEAGUE (by Larry McNew)

4 The Summer League will start on June 2 and will run until August 18. A banquet will be held on Saturday, August 20. This is a Thursday two person league, but can be shot any day before Thursday. Score cards are located in the box near the club house door. We shoot the burlap targets that are setup on the front and back courses. The course to be shot will be listed on the score card each week. A signup sheet is posted at the club, please include your shirt size. League dues are $35 per shooter and have to be paid by the second week to get a tee shirt. Again this is a member s only league that can be shot any day of the week. Adults 17 years and older can shoot the hunter or open stake. Kids under 17 can shoot any color stake. Shooters must continue to shoot at the same color stake the entire league. 3D SUMMER LEAGUE (by Mike Perez) The Summer 3D League is for members only. The league will run $70 per person and must be paid by the third week. The signup sheet is in the clubhouse. The league starts the week of June 20 and runs for 10 weeks. Participants can shoot any day or time that fits their schedules, and make up shoots are allowed. This league is family friendly and non-competitive. Choose any color stake to shoot from, but you must stick with that color

5 the span of the league. There will be a picnic banquet as well as a league T-Shirt. LBAC SOCIAL MEDIA (by Brian Warneck) Lincoln Bowmen Archery Club s Facebook Page has been very successful at getting at providing club information to our members and followers. We are working to set up our club events event, as well as post event flyers and shoot results, on Facebook. Various work events will be posted here as well if you are looking to get some work hours in. We have recently updated our Facebook URL to Facebook In addition to Facebook, an Instagram (@LincolnBowmenArchery) has been setup. Event flyers, shoot results and other club photos will be posted here. If you are currently on Instagram, use #LBAC and #LincolnBowmenArchery and we will repost your photos on our feed. 6 (by Kent VanKampen) Lincoln Bowmen is hosting a Michigan Hunter Safety Education course on Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5. Students must attend both days to complete course. Classes start at 8:30am and end around 5:00pm both days. Legal guardian must register student. If student is under 10 years of age, guardian must stay the duration of the course with the student. A $10 donation will provide lunch: pizza, chips, salad and drink. Contact Kent at (734) or visit the clubhouse on Saturdays to sign up. OPPORTUNITIES FOR WORK HOURS Work Parties Jim McGinnis, our acting Vice President, coordinates work parties on Saturdays, 9am - approximately Noon, and can certainly give a member plenty of work to do. Club Events Special club events, such as Breakfast with Santa and Wild Game Dinner, can only be successful with member assistance and participation. Club Cleaning All Board members volunteer to do the cleaning inside the club house. They would love to have help keeping the restrooms clean, the range swept, tables and kitchen clean, trash empty, etc. BOD Club Cleaning List June 1st half Jim Mende 2nd half Scott Rhind

7 3D Shoots 3D Shoots are held each month from January through September. Help is always needed with setup, cleanup and running the shoots. Watch the calendar for shoot dates. Contact Jim McGinnis or Ben Phillips to volunteer. NEWSLETTER CONTENT (by Brian Warneck) Our club newsletter content is currently provided by the Board of Directors. If you have a story, experience, recipe, etc. that you would like to share with the members, please our advertising committee at lbac.advertising@gmail.com. We will review the submitted content and feature it in an upcoming newsletter. With the weather finally starting to get nice, and the beautiful landscape around the club is in bloom, we will be taking photos to feature in the newsletter, flyers and website. In addition to scenic imagery, we would really like get a variety of photos of our members shooting indoors and outdoors.
