What is the CancerCare Greenwich Walk/Run for Hope? The Greenwich Walk/Run for Hope is a USATF-certified & sanctioned 5K family event in support of CancerCare s free programs and services for Connecticut patients, caregivers and loved ones impacted by cancer. With a children s fun run complete with medals for all the junior participants, activities for kids of all ages and locally sponsored snacks and beverages, this special event is an opportunity for businesses and residents alike to show their support for people affected by all cancers, celebrate survivors and remember loved ones. The continued success of the Greenwich 5K Walk/Run for Hope is a group effort between local businesses and the Greenwich community which gathers in support of CancerCare. To ensure that CancerCare s services remain free, participants create teams through the event website, set a goal and reach out to friends, family and colleagues. Event day provides a unique opportunity for sponsors to show their Connecticut team spirit and commitment along with the chance to promote their services with an activation tent, giveaways and much more. The size and scope of CancerCare has grown tremendously since 1944, but it has never wavered from its mission of providing help and hope to people affected by cancer. CancerCare is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and receives funding from individuals, private foundations, public companies and community organizations and through events like the Walk/Run for Hope Series. We receive no government assistance. Our headquarters are located in New York City, with additional locations in Norwalk, CT, Ridgewood, NJ and Syosset, NY.
