Any donations of bottles will be greatly received. Please pass on to Louise/Trish, via coaches, at the Cafe on a Saturday or via the caretakers at the Pavillion on training nights. Many Thanks. Foodbank Collection The Midlothian Foodbank is need of food. This is one of the busiest times of gthe year for the Foodbank.. Food can be dropped off at the Pavilion at Poltonhall. There s couple of large plastic boxes in the foyer at the Pavillion Please give what you can.. It s a sad thought to think that at a time of year when many will be celebrating and enjoying everything that comes with Christmas some may be struggling to have a meal. Food the foodbank are in short supply off the following.. However all non-perishables ( Dried Pasta, UHT milk, Cereals ) will be greatly received. They do have lots of sugar and beans.
4 Astroturf Pitches at Poltonhall Please read The club is currently working through a consultation process as we look to make a bid for Asset Transfer of the Poltonhall site from Midlothian Council. This means the whole site would be passed over to club. Just to bring everyone up to speed with where we are. We currently have a lease for the Pavillion at Poltonhall and there has been significant investment made in the Pavilion already. I m sure people that drop kids off and attend matches etc will be aware of that. The Astros at Poltonhall are in a very poor state and are in desperate need of replacement. The Council has no money to replace them and will have no choice but to close the gates on the pitches. We can t allow that to happen as this will jeopardise the future of the club. Until a decision is made, we are planning to get the Astros in a safe state so we can keep using them. In addition another proposal for council budget cuts may impact on local grass pitches being maintained too. We have had companies come in to look at the site with a view to giving us an idea as to what s involved for replacing the Astro s. We are currently exploring various avenues for funding bids, however very few grants are given purely for football development, so we may need to consider the option to borrow some money. Trish met with the Scottish Football Partnership last week with a view to getting support for a funding bid. Update to follow. If anyone has any ideas for fundraising, funding bids, Trish will be delighted to hear from you. Trish@bonnyriggrose.org.uk We will share updates/ progress on this as time goes on. Please take a few minutes to give your feedback for the club s consultation survey via Survey Monkey which you ll find on our Facebook page and on the club website. Facebook - Website -
5 Mental Health Update There is training planned after the year for all coaches with a view to giving an overview of mental health first aid ( as well as who to signpost people to ). This is a really positive step for the club to take. If you would like to get involved in this initiative, please get in touch with Trish, Club Community Development Jim Wilson ( Vice Chairman ) Spent 2 days due diligence training at Greenock Morton. This was with a focus on developing the club and exploring opportunities for growth. Natasha Selkirk ( U15 Girls ) Is helping out in the café on a Saturday morning. The opportunity for work experience was offered to all the senior teams and is an initiative as part of our community development. Last but not least ********************** Sponsor Required********************** The club has a fantastic opportunity for Main Sponsorship to support our Football Academy and be involved in our Community Development Programme. Lots of opportunities for advertising including details on 200 plus kits, signage and to be involved as a Community Development Partner in projects like our Mental Health Awareness and working with Veterans. What a great way to advertise your business. If you are interested in getting involved with the club as one of our main spaonsors, please contact Trish on , Thank you for your continued support, B.R.F.C. Committee
