2 Lomond Multi Member Ward Plan 2013 This policing plan will outline the priorities your community identified during our most recent consultation and will inform you of how we plan to address them throughout the year. Our focus is to reduce crime and disorder, to increase public reassurance within your community and to keep people safe. We will continue to work closely with our partners to find effective long-term solutions to the issues you raised. This policing plan sets out how we intend to deal with your priorities. Local Priorities You identified that the policing priorities for Lomond were: 1. Drug Dealing and Use You told us you were worried about drug dealing and drug abuse and the negative impact this has on your community. 2. Assault and Violent Crime You told us that there was concern in relation to violent crime within local housing estates and in the vicinity of licensed premises. 3. Drunk or Disorderly Behaviour You told us there were problems with people drinking alcohol in public places and their subsequent disorderly behaviour. You also highlighted unsightly graffiti and the destruction caused by vandals as areas of concern. We ve listened to your concerns and you ll hopefully already have seen some improvements in Lomond area. In addition, your Community Policing Team will work alongside it partners to protect the community from individuals involved in Serious and Organised Crime and those who present threats in relation to Public Protection and Terrorism.

3 Actions carried out to date Your local Community Policing Team supported by our Proactive teams have been targeting individuals in the community involved in drugs and Serious and Organised crime. We have searched their homes, seized their assets and reported them to the Procurator Fiscal. By pro-actively concentrating our resources on antisocial and violent offenders we have reduced instances of assaults and serious assaults whilst detecting more of these crimes than average detection rate for Serious Assaults. We have increased our stop and search activity resulting in an increased number of detections for drugs, weapons and alcohol, and we have focused our activity around licensed premises to prevent offences associated with irresponsible alcohol consumption. Working in partnership with the Vale of Leven Pubwatch scheme, 26 people are currently prohibited from entering all licensed premises which are members of the scheme with several others having been served warning letters regarding their behaviour. We are continually working in partnership with West Dunbartonshire Council and local housing authorities to pursue Anti Social Behaviour Orders against antisocial tenants. This has demonstrated that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated, creating a more positive environment for our residents.

4 In the Coming Months We will act on the intelligence you have provided to target drug dealers in your community and disrupt their activities. We will share information with landlords to allow them to evict convicted dealers. We will continue to target violent individuals and those known to carry knives and offensive weapons. This will be achieved by us visiting these individuals on a regular basis. We will continue to proactively stop and search those individuals we suspect of being in possession of knives or offensive weapons. We will work in partnership to target those who persistently behave in an antisocial manner either in or around their homes or in public places by use of ASBOs and Criminal ASBOs. We will use all resources at our disposal including the WDC Public Reassurance Team CCTV vehicle which will attend in areas causing concern. We will look for new ways to tackle violence and antisocial behaviour fuelled by excessive consumption of alcohol. Together with our partners from ASSIST we will continue to provide a coordinated approach to tackle domestic abuse in the community. We will continue to target bogus crime through education and enforcement to protect the most vulnerable members of our community. We will keep in contact with you to keep you updated on the work being done to tackle the issues that are affecting the quality of life for you and the community.
