2 A cancer diagnosis can make you feel like your world has been turned upside down. It can also impact your finances. Here at Halifax, we have a dedicated Cancer Support Team, in association with Macmillan Cancer Support, who are here to help.

3 What s the financial impact of cancer? If you or a loved one has had a cancer diagnosis, you could soon feel the impact on your household budget: Your monthly income may go down if you have to stop working temporarily or permanently. You may face additional costs of getting to and from hospital, including petrol, fares and parking, and making other healthcare visits. Your day-to-day living costs can rise you may need to heat your home more, or pay for help around the house or garden. Our Cancer Support Team is here to support you: We may be able to help with mortgage payment holidays and current account fees and charges for example, but your individual circumstances will need to be taken into account as this isn't always possible. On all of our current accounts we will try to stop payments taking you over your limit which can help you manage your spending. If a payment does take it over your limit or we stop it, you won t be charged.

Our dedicated team can help if you or a loved one has been diagnosed with cancer: We re here to offer practical help and support with managing your finances at every stage, from the time you are diagnosed to after treatment. We can give you help and guidance with your personal banking, savings, loans, mortgages and credit cards and in some cases may be able to offer help to lessen the financial impact of cancer.
