Hey guys! My name is Nathan Padmore and I will be your Hello division 2! Lieutenant Governor for this upcoming Key Club Year! My main role as LTG is to be the link between the District and the clubs so as to provide you guys with any resources or materials the District may want to share with you and to give you guidance in whatever areas you may need it in. Here are some facts about me that I thought I d share. I m 17 years old. I go to Queen s College in Barbados. I ve been in Key Club for 3 years now. I was District Webmaster last year. When I graduate high school, I want to study Medicine. My favorite food is pizza Im 6 5 I can write with both hands Every month, I will be sending out a newsletter filled with information about Key Club, tips and tricks, ways to improve areas in your clubs as well as coverage on what s going on in the CAD.
KEY INFORMATION ABOUT KEY CLUB INTERNATIONAL It was founded in 1925 in Sacramento, California, USA This month s featured Key Club International Partner is: It has over 270,000 members worldwide. Its mission statement is: Key Club is an international, student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership Its vision is: We are caring and competent servant leaders transforming communities worldwide. Caring: Compassion for others is a cornerstone of the Key Club experience, inspiring action and service to one s community. Me and the IP Lieutenant Governor of Division 2, Chelsey Austin using the collection boxes costumes at ICON last year. UNICEF is the only organization of the United Nations dedicated exclusively to children. Working with other United Nations bodies, governments and non-governmental organizations, UNICEF helps to provide for children s needs in more than 150 developing countries through communitybased services in primary health care, basic education and safe water and sanitation. One of their initiatives that Key Club regularly participates in is Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF whereby since 1950, persons went door to door with collection boxes every October to raise money for children across the globe.

UMMER SERVICE School will be out in a matter of weeks and it will soon be summer! This long vacation period is one of the best times to plan and execute service projects as you (hopefully) don t have to worry about schoolwork during this time. This year, I am asking that each club plan and execute at least 2 service projects during the summer break. As summer is both July and August, you could probably have one each month! Here are a list of service projects your club can consider doing while on holiday: Organize a clothes/ book drive. Host a beach clean up. Volunteer at an animal shelter. Offer to read at a nursing home/ children s nursery. Repaint or clean up an area of your school. Make gifts and donate them to the children s ward at the hospital. Plant a garden at your school. If you need any help in planning these projects, don t be afraid to let me know! Key Club members at the District Beach Clean Up and Barbecue last August.
The BIGGEST event of the Key Club year is almost here! At this convention, we will be celebrating the amazing things Key Club members do with more than 1,500 students from all across the world. Travel to and from International Convention with your district. Share innovative service project and fundraising ideas. Listen to amazing speakers. Learn about service leadership. Train for your leadership position. Elect next year s Key Club International Board. Discover new charities and organizations you and your club can team up with. Have fun and make memories and friendships that last a lifetime. See the sites in Chicago. Bond with your people. This year, the Caribbean-Atlantic District will be heading to the Windy City of Chicago from July 3rd to 9th, Afterwards, we will be heading to Miami in the Sunshine State of Florida to complete our District Tour till the 12th of July, which is when we will be heading back home. An ICON registration form will be accompanying this newsletter which contains the currently known prices. For more information, you can speak with me or contact your Faculty Advisor or the District Administrator.
Thank you for reading this newsletter! I hope you found it very informative. If you have any comments or questions (or just want to say hello) feel free to contact me using any of the information below.
