1 19A-1 Zone Newsletter Better Understanding & Effective Communication Dear Fellow Lions, Lioness and Leos: I have a great time with my official visitations to most of the Clubs in September. It was such an exciting and eye opening experience. To me, it was like meeting all the relatives in a big family whom I haven t seen for some time. I met some Past and Current Lion Dignitaries, active, inactive or life members and new members in addition to most of the Club Officers. My heartfelt thanks to all of you (especially those making special efforts to come) for your kind hospitality and welcome, making my visitations so memorable and heart warming. I thoroughly enjoyed my visitations so far, with lots of fun and fellowship, and I look forward to meeting the rest of my Lion Families soon. I mentioned about the Zone Project of 19A-1 during my visits and I would like to give you more details:- Our Zone will be working with a recycling company and through their partnership with Tree Canada and American Forests, they will donate funds to have one tree planted for every 24 qualifying electronics they collect from us, plus a donation of $50 to us. This is a cost-free, tree planting and environmental fund raising program which rewards us with money and environmental incentives for the collection of unwanted consumer electronics such as cell phones, inkjet and toner cartridges. (flyer will be distributed at the Zone Meeting) PURPOSES: All trees planted in support of Int l President s Project Plant A Million Tree All funds raised will be split into 50/50 and donate to support 2 programs:- MD19 CARE Project: Maternal health: To be a woman in Ecuador s Andes LCIF Project: Relieving Hunger in the Horn of Africa September 2011 Inside this issue: Congratulations to Clubs Achievements ZC September Visitation Schedule Members Orientation & Leadership Training Upcoming Events 4 ZC activities & visitations photos LCI, LCIF & CARE news update Contacts & relevant information Benefits of participation :- YOU ARE SUPPORTING THE ZONE S PROJECT YOU ARE SUPPORTING LCIF AND MD19 S PROGRAMS YOU MAKE YOUR CLUB PART OF A BIG TEAM WORK PROJECT YOU EXERCISE THE LION SPIRIT WE SERVE YOU UNITE YOUR CLUB MEMBERS TOGETHER WITH THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS AS A BIG FAMILY WORKING TOWARDS THE SAME PURPOSE YOU HELP TO PREVENT IMPROPER DISPPOSAL OF CONSUMER ELECTRONICS INTO OUR LANDFILLS YOU HELP TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT AND TO CLEAN THE AIR WE BREATHE BY PLANTING TREES YOU HELP TO RAISE FUND TO SUPPORT THE LESS FORTUNATES AND SAVING LIVES GOOD FOR YOU AND GOOD FOR THE WORLD Please spread the words to your families and friends to participate and help to collect as many products as possible.
