1 May, 2011 No man will make a great leader who wants to do it all himself or get all the credit for doing it. -Andrew Carnegie Over the years, we ve had some great leaders on our board, people who know that it takes a team to get things done. We have another good group ready to move forward, starting with John & Karen Juros, who have agreed to stay on as co-presidents. Kathleen & Charlie McCarthy have agreed to take over as co-vice Presidents and be in charge of programs. Dick Federico has volunteered to serve as Treasurer. Lyn Daudelin will stay on as Secretary and Jean McCann will continue to head Membership. Beth Houlihan has volunteered to edit next year s Newsletter and Anne & Wade Sayer will take on Publicity. We are, however, missing one player. We need someone to be our Social leader, organizing special events such as nights at the theater, museum trips, and otherwise adding spice to our calendar. We ll welcome new board members and thank departing ones at a June 18 picnic. Call or president Karen Juros to join the team (kjuros@comcast.net). We honestly can t do it without you. MAY WINE SOCIAL Come celebrate spring at our May wine social, set for 7 PM on Saturday, May 14, at Beth & Ed Houlihan s house. They re at 5 Lost Meadow Road. Call them at or ebhouli@gmail.com to let them know you re coming (and what you d like to bring). Socials are $10 for members; $15 for nonmembers.

2 Brunch At The Belfry We re all meeting for brunch on Sunday, May 22, beginning at 11 AM at the Belfry Inn in Sandwich. This is not your typical ladies brunch; it s open to all members. We ll be ordering from the menu (and getting separate checks), but we still need reservations. Call or organizer Patty Williams at (508) or mpatty3@comcast.net to reserve your seat. Save the following dates: LOOKING AHEAD TO JUNE: June 7: General Meeting, Sandwich Glass Museum, to hear Attorney Mary M. Gaffney, who specializes in elders legal matters. Start thinking about issues you d like to explore. June 14: Board meeting, 4 PM June 18: Annual Meeting & Picnic, 2 PM, at the McCarthy s house (rain date, June 19) We're in REGULARLY SCHEDULED EVENTS This group meets Mondays at 1 PM. Call Tricia Daley at to join the group. Men's Bridge This group meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. Please call either Frank Bernard or Dick Clabault to be added to the meeting list.
