1 August 7, 2015 Dear Friends of the : In less than two months it s time again for the golf outing! The golf outing along with the BMF 5K, are the two major fund raisers for the Foundation. Your support has allowed the to continue and grow in its mission which is simply help others in your local community of southeastern Pennsylvania and northern Delaware. We are an allvolunteer organization. 100% of your donation is used exclusively to fulfill our mission. The foundation executes its mission of helping others by: Helping local families in crisis by assisting with medical bills, food and gas gift cards, contributing to family fundraising events and assisting with household expenses Awarding educational grants to students in-need within our community Funding our Pay-it-Forward program to encourage others to be active in their community We would like to invite you to our 8th annual golf outing on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Edgmont Country Club. The day begins with lunch and an afternoon of golf, followed by cocktails, dinner and auction. You also have the option to attend the dinner and auction only. Please see the enclosed flyer for further details. In addition to attending the event we ask you to consider being a sponsor! Your direct support through a sponsorship helps the foundation achieve its mission and tells the community you, and/or your company support The and its good works. Sponsorships start at $100 for a Billy's Buddies and $250 for a hole sponsor. Higher profile sponsorships are also available. The Foundation is accepting donations of items and/or services for the auction and prizes for the golf outing. 2 Highlights The Foundation continues its commitment to community outreach. Here are just a few causes supported by the foundation thanks to your help and generosity: BMF Educational Grants were awarded to Drexel-Neumann Academy in Chester, PA in support of their Programs in educational grants totaling $7,500 were awarded to 8 th grade students in 2015 In 2014, Families In Need assisted 13 local families experiencing medical and personal crisis by contributing grants totaling $6,400 to medical fundraisers and providing gift cards for food, groceries and gas. Additionally we facilitated payment of miscellaneous household expenses Results of the Pay It Forward program included: - Billy's Kids, an initiative of the, encouraged school- age children to get involved with their community and worked with Johnny's Teddy Bear Drive to collect 66 brand new Teddy Bears, distributing them to patients at Nemours/Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children during the holiday season -Billy s Kids had a used coat drive and delivered approximately 100 coats to Drexel Neumann Academy for distribution to families in need in the city of Chester for the 2014/15 winter season - BMF Pay-it Forward issued a grant to Youth and Family Ministries of Elam United Methodist Church, Glen Mills, PA -The Garnet Valley High School girls tennis team s 6th annual Jaguar Classic tennis tournament raised $522. Our Pay-it Forward program in turn, matched their contributions and challenged the team members to direct the funds back into the community as part of a service project. Our efforts are directed in two areas: 1) Providing compassionate and personalized assistance to families in the community in need, especially those with a sick child or a sick parent with school age children. In this area your contributions provide: food cards, gas cards, tuition support, home essential cost support. 2) Encouraging young people to be active in their community. Billy Mock was a loving Christian with a dynamic enthusiasm for life. His infectiously positive attitude, ever-present smile and vibrant personality literally impacted the lives of thousands of people. Billy began fighting brain cancer in 2005 and touched thousands more until his death in June 2007 at the age of 13. families in need.
