2 WHO ARE WE? Simon Says Give is a nonprofit founded by Mandi Simon when she was 8-years old. We support Kids Celebrating Kids in four ways: Birthday Celebrations for kids in need, Youth Leadership opportunities, Chapter Passion Projects and our annual High Five for Supplies drive. As part of the youth leadership opportunities, we have formed a Kid Advisory Board (KAB) to help move our cause forward. The goal is to not only be kid founded, but also kid operated. Our local Kid Advisory Board is working hard on their passion project; The Give Awards. MANDI SIMON Founder WHAT ARE THE GIVE AWARDS? A new program developed by the KAB to recognize youth in the community going above and beyond to help others. WHY ARE WE DOING IT? There are 3 pillars that are the foundation of the Give Awards. The pillars represent our purpose and drive behind the entire project. 1. Recognition of the Superheroes to encourage them to keep up with their impactful work. 2. Empowerment of those Superheroes who are not yet serving. We hope other youth become inspired to join in and start helping their community in whatever way they feel most valuable. 3. Development of the Simon Says Give KAB to become better leaders by planning and executing these Give Awards. HOW ARE WE DOING IT? The Give Awards Emmy Like event will take place January 13, 2018 at the Brave New Workshop Theatre. All nominees as well as winners across age divisions will be recognized at this event. As you read through the packet, you will see that we have quite the recognition celebration planned. The Brave New Workshop is our venue sponsor and we are looking to incorporate decorations and activities to ensure a fun, kid-friendly, memorable experience for all; including things like: Superhero Capes, Decorations & Props Photographer Photo booth for the attendees to dress as a superhero Programs Table gifts Other games and fun for the kids Awards (THE RECOGNITION) - Estimated budget of $1,500 We will have 6 honorees who will receive trophies with the Give Awards logo on them. Innovative Office Solutions is sponsoring these trophies. We would also like to provide each winner with the following: Certificate of Appreciation Echo or Cash Prize Superhero backpack with swag Nominator Tickets (THE RECOGNIZERS) - Estimated budget of $750 Each nominee will receive 4 tickets to the event, with the option to purchase more tickets. We are hoping the nominees will bring a friend to inspire more kids to become superheroes. We want to enable all those individuals that nominated a superhero for their efforts to attend with a guest to see their superhero be celebrated.
