4 Letters to Santa Charity Project Contact info: Julie Martin-Borba Volunteers are needed to assist with this project. 400 children in Ceres are being sponsored through this project this holiday season. Each sponsored child receives a clothing outfit, a toy and the child s family is given the food items to make a holiday meal. Volunteers are needed to serve as shoppers to pick out the clothing items for the sponsored children. Through a partnership with Walmart of Modesto (McHenry Ave), the Letters to Santa charity will be conducting two shopping days (4 hours each) to get the shopping done for 1,000 children total. If you are interested or know someone who is interested in serving as a volunteer shopper please read below. This is a great opportunity to earn community service credit. There are two dates when the shopping takes place. You will need to confirm with Julie 1 week prior to each date to let her know if you plan to participate and for how many hours. This helps with the overall planning of how long we anticipate the shopping to take place. Details: Shopping day #1 - Saturday, November 18 th Shopping day #2 Saturday, December 2 nd 8:00am to 12:00pm at the Walmart in Modesto on McHenry Ave near McHenry Bowl. You simply arrive and check-in with the Letters to Santa staff they will then give you an information sheet for an individual child and direct you to what needs to be shopped for. You then bring the items to the registers where the Letters to Santa staff will pay for them. You then get another form for another child and start all over. You can volunteer for as many hours as you want (i.e., 1 hour, 2 hours, etc.) Please Julie your intent to volunteer, including the date and time range you plan to volunteer. There are 1,000 kids to shop for. Thank you for volunteering!
