1 Easton Area Corvette Club Meeting Minutes April 17, 2014 The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Four officers and 23 members were in attendance. Acting Secretary Holly Hess read the April 4, 2014 minutes. Nick Recchia made a Motion to accept the report, Brad Orey seconded the Motion, and it was unanimously carried. Bud Cole thanked the members for their cards, phone calls and s regarding Dot s recent surgery. Bud added that Earl Bartha s wife has a similar situation (Earl not present at tonight s meeting). Sally Alercia is doing very well and attended the dinner at Beck s Land & Sea on Tuesday evening. Treasurer s Report Gene Ujvary gave the Treasurer s Report. - Old Balance: $4, Deposits: None - Checks Written: $32.00 (April 3, 2014, #1565); $ (April 5, 2014, #1566); $ (April 17, 2014, #1567) - Balance: $4,602.35

2 A Motion was made by Vern Golini to accept the Treasurer s Report. Jim Peters seconded the Motion, and the Motion was passed. Membership Committee Brad stated that Chevy 21 informed Richard Fill of our Club, and Richard may join (1995 green coupe). Gene reported that Terry Bartleson gave us a late membership renewal. Gene has a friend who plans to join. Brad recently sent an to the membership regarding updating the roster. Please report any changes (such as cars, addresses, etc.) to Brad. Cruise Committee Vern circulated the committee report. Brad reported speaking with the Property Manager of the lot located on Sullivan Trail, Forks Township. He is happy to have our event and showed Brad the spaces we can use. Only a portion of the property is owned by the property manager; the remaining is owned by Bartolacci Corp. Brad explained the Sam s Club situation, emphasizing that the relocation date is unknown. Brad has the paperwork for signing, and the application permit is $25. About 170 spaces are available for our use, most on the right side with a few on the left. Our biggest challenge is informing participants of the date of change/new location. Vern mentioned that changing locations half way through the cruise dates would enable us to inform people in advance. Denise Orey suggested informing people in advance via a handout flyer with exact date and new location. Bud added that as soon as we receive the permit, we can decide when to more to Forks. At our next meeting we will make a decision on the actual move date. Brad recommended relocation to Forks at the August cruise Brad stated that we need insurance and an aerial picture (Goggle map) plus the check. Gene & Brad will take care of this. Vern reported that there was no Cruise Committee meeting since our last Club Meeting. The trailer has been moved to its new location. We have

3 15-20 gift cards for the drawings but need more. Members are asked to help with the task of obtaining gift cards. Letters of introduction are available at the front desk. Tom and Claire will handle the drawings. The sign-up sheet for help at the May 4 cruise is available tonight. A letter will be written for the stores in the Rt. 248 mall informing them of our situation and thanking them for their support over the years. Chevy 21 will again be our sponsor for the Rt. 248 cruises. Brad will arrange to have our cruises put on everycarshow.com plus a copy of the Vettes for Pets flyer. The website can be used to see car shows/cruises in different states when traveling. Apparel Committee Bud explained that Barry and Debbie Opitz were asked to check on prices for t-shirts to be given to new members plus existing members free of charge. The remaining shirts could be sold for $7. Bud asked for discussion. Barry recommended a total of 144 shirts to be screen printed with one logo on the chest. Cost for the shirts is $706, and shirts will be gray with blue logo, 100 percent cotton. Discussion occurred on the number of shirts to be ordered in size categories. A Motion to proceed with this project was made by Jim Peters and seconded by Bob Kreidler. The Motion passed. Picnic Committee Fred Scott reported that this years picnic will be at Mauch Chunk Lake in Jim Thorpe. We have the permit for In the past we reserved for three years. The fee is refundable 30 days prior to the event. Fred will reserve for three years. Motion to proceed was made by Nick Recchia and seconded by Brad Orey. The Motion passed. Christmas Party No report. Newsletter This year s shows are starting, and Brad asked that members inform him of any trophies won or pictures available for the Newsletter. Len Feinberg will

4 take photos again this year. Events Committee Gene Ujvary read the report. April 21 is the last date to register (contact Gene/JoAnn) for the poker run on April 27. So far we have checks from 22 people. The dinner menu has four choices and includes all food, tax and gratuities for $20. Those not participating in the run may still meet for dinner, but Gene must be notified to make our reservation. May 4 AACC Springfest at DeSales University meet at Park and Ride 8:30. May 18 Wind Gap Show meet at Stockertown Exit at 8:45. May 24 Cruise on Easton s Northampton Street meet at CVS lot (15 th and Northampton Streets) at 5:30. May 26 Memorial Day Parade meet at Easton High School (main lot) at 9:30 (fun run after parade for lunch). May 30 Camelot House Prom Night open to volunteers; please contact Bud for details. June 8 Vettes for Vets (Blue Valley Farm Show Building in Bangor) meet at Park and Ride 8:30. Brad stated that applications for shows are available at the front table. We are trying to get larger groups together to represent the Club at these events. Bob Levers noted the importance of including our Club affiliation on the application. Brad stated that we need 12 to 15 cars for the June 7 Lafayette Alumni Parade. We will meet around noon--location to be specified. The Club receives a $350 donation for participating. Brad will more information. This is the 50 th anniversary celebration of the Class of Gene reported that 18 people are signed for the Reading Phillies game, and we need 30 to reserve our spot at the stadium. The $31 charge includes private parking, a nice buffet and fireworks. The event is open to friends to meet the 30-participation goal. Over 20 people have notified Gene/JoAnn of their intent to sign up for the October 11 New York City trip. The $96 payment includes Ellis Island, Statute of Liberty, 911 Memorial plus dinner. We need $1925 to reserve by May 1, but JoAnn has asked for a time extension. We will meet at the Park

5 and Ride. Lunch is the responsibility of the participant. Vettes for Pets Brad stated that show applications are available to members. State Farm on Butler Street will provide goody bags. Jim Karch will be asked to help with the shirts. Tricky tray and door prize items are needed. The Center for Animal Health and Welfare will provide a letter showing that we are allowed to sell things on their behalf. The show is scheduled for August 10 with registration from 9 a.m. until noon. Pre-registration is $17 with $20 day of show. Dash magnets will be provided. Bud added that stick-on magnets (for car windows) will be available for sale at our next meeting. Other Business Bud reported that Glenn Kahler informed him of Carl Raub s passing. Carl owned Chesterfield Manner where the Club s first meetings were held for several years (without charge). Carl was an honorary member of the Club. Brad thanked the members who donated Vettes for Pets t-shirts for use in the hand-made quilt. There should be thirteen years of shirts, and we don t have many older ones. Gene mentioned that a card of thanks was received from Vern and Diana Golini for the Club s donation to Hancock City Home Care in memory of Diana s Mother. Tonight s 50/50 drawing for $40 was won by Jim Peters, ticket #917. The meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m., on Motion of Bob Levers, seconded by Jim Peters and unanimously carried.
