2 The MSWA Ocean Ride is a unique cycling event following Western Australia s beautiful coastline from Fremantle to Hillarys. With five ride options to choose from, there is something to suit all ages and fitness levels from serious cyclists, through to more casual weekend riders. Ride distances include; 10km Family Ride 30km Ride 50km Ride 70km Challenge 100km Challenge The MSWA Ocean Ride is held to raise vital funds for people living with multiple sclerosis (MS) and all neurological conditions in Western Australia.

3 Participating as a Corporate Team in the 2018 MSWA Ocean Ride is an effortless way to: encourage team-building; promote the health and well-being of employees; raise corporate visibility in the community; make a difference in the fight against MS and other neurological conditions. MSWA provides vital support and services to people living with neurological condtions in Western Australian. This includes people living with multiple sclerosis, stroke Parkinson s Disease, Huntington s Disease, Motor Neurone Disease and acquired Brain Injury, to name a few. MSWA is a non-government, not-for-profit organisation. The money we raise through the MSWA Ocean Ride goes directly to MSWA to assist in providing this range of supports and services. In addition to our direct care services, we also provide funding for vital research projects to find the cause, better treatments and a cure for MS and all neurological conditions.

4 Your employer might be happy to support the MSWA Ocean Ride by providing sponsorship or encouraging other staff to get involved in the event. Many workplaces and organisations are more than happy to support a good cause, so all you need to do is ask! Talk to HR (or your direct line-manager) and schedule an appointment to present the opportunity for your organisation to support the 2018 MSWA Ocean Ride. They can support you in a number of ways: Payment of entry fees for the event. We can set up a team payment code for you, so that you re just issued with one invoice for easy payment; Provide you with branded company t-shirts or cycle jerseys to wear on the day; Matched funding or a company donation towards the team s fundraising; A sponsored team site for the team to regroup and relax at the finish line (see Team Haven information).

5 There are many benefits to organisations if they choose to sponsor employees in the MSWA Ocean Ride; Showing they value and appreciate their staff; Publicity and promotion if you wear the company s t-shirt or other branded merchandise for the ride; Company name and logo appearing on the team fundraising page; A possible feature item with photos on the MSWA Ocean Ride website, Facebook page and/or participant newsletters.

7 FUNDRAISING Your fundraising efforts help MSWA provide support and services to Western Australians living with MS and all neurological conditions. We ask each Ocean Ride participant to meet a $100 minimum fundraising amount, and do their best to exceed it! The MSWA Ocean Ride Events Team are here to guide you through your fundraising journey, providing tips and advice to help you reach your goal. Plus, if you raise over $1,000 as an indiviudal you ll join our 2018 MSWA Ocean Ride Champions Club and enjoy a number of perks including a free limited edition cycle jersey, prime position at the starting line and express bib collection on the morning of the event. 8 The MSWA Ocean Ride is fun for everyone, even if you don t feel like jumping on your bike. Corporate volunteering provides your company with the opportunity to develop staff skills, build teamwork and bolster your reputation within the local community. We welcome volunteers and recognise the valuable skills and abilities they bring with them. Enthusiasm and a willingness to make a difference are the only qualifications you need! Come and join us bright and early on Perth s beautiful coastline as we send off our riders, with volunteering locations available in Fremantle, Hillarys and all along the course. Volunteer roles include: Helping set up and pack down the event; Course marshals positioned at various locations along the course; Providing event information to participants and spectators at the MSWA Information marquees; Registration and Bib Collection assistants; Water station assistants; Merchandise and donation marquee helpers; Fruit assistants Medal assistants
